ANYONE ELSE NOTICE A TERRIBLE SMELL WHEN THESE ARE BURNING!? THE FIRST TWO TONS WE BOUGHT THIS YEAR HAD A WOOD SMELL TO THEM AND DIDN'T MAKE OUR STOVE GLASS TOO DIRTY, THIS BATCH (WE BOUGHT 2 MORE TONS) IS TERRIBLE. I CANNOT DESCRIBE THEM SMELL INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE. ITS VERY STRONG AND SMELLS LIKE CHEMICALS, AND IT TURNED THE GLASS ON OUR STOVE BLACK, WITHIN 24 HOURS. IM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THESE PELLETS.

Glad , but disapointed to see that others feel the quality of thses pellets had declined this year . Have had nothing , but problems . High ash , dirty burn . will not purchase again.

hello im from central ny only about 30-35 miles from the schuyler manufacuring plant of new england pellets. been burning pellets about 4-5 yrs. havent used many other types. dry creek, dont really remember them much but the wife says we used for a bit so i guess it must be true. and just went though a few bags of firemakers i got in trade from my buddy up the road for a few bags of my newenglands. well the whole point is when i first started burning the newenglands they were great . good hot heat nice light grey or white ash. but some where they must have done something to the make up of the pellets because now its like tring to get blood from a stone to get any heat from these darn things. not to mention they changed the prasing on the bags from hardwood pellets to premium pellets. theres nothin premium about them. now to conclude i forementioned the fire makers. those thing burn like mad gang busters. wow my buddy said they burn hot but just figured it was cause we have differnt stoves.(manufacurers and square ft out put) but he wasnt kidding these things are great low ash hardly any fines and i have already mantioned the heat. the only problem is i dont think they exist anymore cant find em any where on the net. all that said im going to try to find something other than newengland i dont recomend them for anyone who has a ussc 6039hf.

New England pellets have been nothing but problems for me. HIGH ash, LOW temp, burn VERY dirty, burnpot clogs up EVERYDAY. Tried a few bags of Allegany and Dry Creek and what a difference. I would not recommend these to anybody.

we have a Harman accentra and have been burning the New Englanders since we got it (this is our 7th winter) The first 5 he a rs the pellets were great-. very little ash, nice heat. Last year I noticed more ash and less heat with having to fill the stove more often. This year the pellets suck. They burned very quickly, had a LOT of ash and gave off poor heat. Top it all off by the fact that I had 11 improperly sealed bags that made a royal mess of my garage and I am done with the New Englanders. I DID myself no favors, though, by buying 2 tons of north american wood pellets. These are even worse.

I have been burning theses pellets for last 5 seasons - burning 5 to 7 tons per year in two stoves. This year is by far the most disappointing... Excessive ash and poor burn resulting in chunks in the burn pot. Have to clean each stove every 3 days.

I sent my wife to order a ton of Green Supreme pellets and she went to the wrong store and a ton of New England Wood Pellets was delivered to my confusion. After realizing what happened I accepted the delivery knowing that NEWP manufactures Green Supreme, I was surprised to see the BTU rating was 8200 and not 8300 (nothing like having a ton of pellets you've never tried). Luckily my Timberwolf TPS-35 burns them quite nicely and relatively close in temp to the Green supreme, I didn't notice any more ash than I had when I burned Barefoot and the cost with delivery was $259 a ton. I will be ordering another ton soon!

have a Harmon p35i insert tried these pellets, found excessive fines, had to wipe out hopper, burns very dirty, excessive ash, will not burn any more, too dirty stove requires constant cleaning using these pellets. Switching back to Geneva hardwood pellets

We have had our Harman Accentra for just over two weeks. It came with two free tons of New England Pellets and we were lead to believe that this was a high quality, slow burn, low ash pellet. Home is 1900 square ft, and in Westernm, MA. The outside temp was single digit cold the last two days - Filled the stove with a bag at 7:30am and by the time I came home at 4:45 it was completely out. Since the temps dropped we are going through about 2-3 bags a day and the stove will still go out. Thoughts or comments?

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that New England Pellets are a lot longer this year? I have a Harman P-68 that the auger has to break them witch results in a banging noise.
