  • Admin Review: Oct 2014: These are still one of my all time favourite pellets! This years run I'm seeing incredibly low ash but I do have to scrap the burnpot every morning to get the slight ash build-up down into the ash pan. The heat output is incredible and I will trade a little extra work for the added heat.
Nov-2017Just got done with a bag and these get a thumbs up! Very nice and dense pellet which gives off great heat. The ash was not bad and the heat was very nice.

Vistaflamme V170: Thorough cleaning Clean my stove every week, pot every day. Similar problem last year. The first skid (75 bags) was great but second has been nothing but a nightmare! Sooty, dirty, hard to start, reduced feed rates and high air volumes to get to burn… to the point of having to by-pass some of the controls in order to not “time-out” on start-up and reach operating temperatures. Pellets are stored in a dry and heated area. As suggested by furnace tech, tried another brand: what a difference! Some major Quality Control issues that will hopefully be corrected sooner than later

*UPDATE* I contacted Lauzon about my issues with their pellets and they informed me they had a bad batch/supplier at the start of the heating season. They assured me they fixed the problem and contacted my retailer with $30 off of my next purchase. Still debating if I take the chance with these again.

I had purchased 2 tons of CUBIX pellets for the first time in Jan 2013. BIG MISTAKE. These pellets create twice the ash than any other pellets I have used over the last 6 years. I have a Whitfield stove. I highly recommend to stay away from these pellets. They are NOT premium quality.

I bought 1 ton of these early in the year - Liked them very much. My wife commented on the low ash content and how clean the glass stayed. I thought the heat wasn't quite up to snuff with Softwood pellets, but close enough. I then bought a second ton. They were terrible. After burning a couple bags, the ash is literally 1/4 of the way up the glass. These are probably the worst pellets I have ever burned, including the cheapies at Wal Mart, etc. I will never buy again. Stay away from Cubex. NO WAY are these things Super Premium quality - definitely below premium - I'm guessing 3-4% ash based on the amount in the stove. With 30 Bags left in the second ton, I bought a ton of something else - will mix in the rest of these "garbage" pellets on a shoulder month.

I left a comment about these pellets on 1/16. Since then, I have only 5 bags left...Thank God! These pellets are horrid to say the least! They are supposed to be the best of the best? Worst pellet I have used! Here's why.. 1)They are full of dust out of the bag.. 2) I had 8 bags rip open on me spilling pellets everywhere.. 3) heat is just adequate at best..4) glass filthy after 1/2 bag.. 5) ash pan full after 5 bags.. 6) firepot full of hard ash and soot after 2 bags..7) stove shut down 2 times within 12 hours because of ash clogging firepot..8) auger having terrible time feeding pellets, only brand stove has problem with.. I have a QuadraFire CB1200, installed in October. 9) THEY COST $300 A TON! I clean my stove thoroughly, weekly or more. I have used Geneva, Maines Choice, Greene Team and Maine Woods. Cubex is the worst! Maine Woods the Best!

Bought a ton of these and a ton of Logik-e. Ran through the ton of Logik's and switched to the "best" pellet for the colder months. WOW! Horrible pellet! Clinkers everyday, heat output isn't bad but not nearly what I expected. Could have gone to Home Depot and got crap pellets for this much work. Going back to my Logik-e's these pellets are not worth the price even remotely.

Everyone I know burns Cubex. I bought a ton last year, great pellet. High heat and low ash.. This year I have burned 2 tons and I am not satisfied. There is a lot more ash and the ash sticks together.
Also have noticed odd color flame, green... Not sure whats up with that. Just tried a few bags of La Crete, low ash and
high heat. Probably going to stick with those for a bit.

By far one of the worst pellets I have burned. Lots of round blackish brown ash. I need to pull the ash out of the burn pot 2 to 3 times a day. Never did this before. Window on my Harman Advance gets dirty real fast after my weekly cleaning.I have been burning Okies and Vermonts and thought I would try some of the BEST OF THE BEST even at $7.00 a bag. The only thing that got burnt Is ME. Will not recommend these pellets

Bought two tons of cubex pellets to burn in my harman stove, like others, i had read very good reviews and therefore paid the premium price for them. But like others , I found that the heat output is low and ash is extremely high. It leaves a hard sand like material that sticks together and fills the ash pan after several bags. How can a hard wood premium pellet after burning leave such ash residue?
