Additional Info

  • Admin Review: Nov: 2017 - So these pellets have a mixed review........The bag was not a 40lb bag but rather smaller. I'm not sure if I received an "export" bag but non the less. The bag seems to have also changed... totally... from the good old 'trump bag" with a flag and all, to one that is less patriotic. These pellets absolutely did burn super hot. They seemed to be super dense with not much fines. I want to say that these are a southern yellow pine pellet. I could not find much info on online except to find out what the deal is. I had to clear out the burnpot in the morning but the heat was was nice! great pellet overall .

I have an Earthstove. I have used many different kinds of fuel pellets. Today I bought Freedom Fuel Pellets. They do burn hot, but the smell they have is horrendous! Once they started to burn, I noticed the smell of wooden cabinets with finish on them, that was burning. And also, a sickening smell that I can't describe. I started to choke and cough. My nose is so stopped up, I can't hardly breathe. So I turned off the stove, and the pellets have to go back tomorrow. I had to open a couple windows to help get the smell out of the house. I don't know if it is a bad batch or what it is, but I am afraid to use these.

Burning Freedom Fuel Pellets in my Mt. Vernon Quadrafire for the first time. A brand new shipment from Tractor Supply this week. The pellets are very small in size and very broken up in the bag. Lots of fines. Also the bags are weak and rip easy which caused a mess when stacking them. I'm reading other reviews of big pellets and no fines. There must have been a change in manufacturing. They do seem to be burning hot, but with lots of ash. Fire pot clogs and vacuuming is required every few days.

The pellets burn great in our Quadra-Fire Santa Fe. With that being said the bags SUCK. They are sealed very poorly on all sides and break open constantly. I set a bag on the floor by the stove and it popped open at the bottom. Several popped open while we were stacking them in the basement. I picked one up to put in the stove and it blew open. At times there are more pellets on the floor than in the stove. And just to be clear - we do not throw the bags.

just bought a ton of FreedomFuel pellets at Tractor Supply Delmont Pa. One of the worst experiences in my 65 years. All but a handful of pellet bags riddled with rodent droppings and chewed holes with a horrible mess in the unloading process. These pellets quite blonde in color. Not sure why. Other brands dark like wood !? This pallet must have been in (poor) storage for ages to be in such bad shape. I keep my Harman P61A impeccably clean so I imagine these will burn OK. But the condition of the packaged product and the horrible mess to handle these bags will prevent me from ever buying them again. I'll report this to Tractor supply as well. Beware. Check the pellet brand before they load you up and you get home with the mess of a lifetime. This is NO exaggeration !

Bought 15 bags at tractor supply. All they had due to shortage this year. They are the worst pellets I have ever had. Mostly bags of crumbs and dust. One bag had a chunk of something 4" ×2" long. Low heat value In my mt vernon ae. Seems like equipment not working right during manufacture and no quality control.glad they only had 15 bags

My first two tons of Freedom pellets were fine my third ton of pellets were terrible. They were wet and mostly dust. I could not get the heat I did before in my Harmon Pel Pro 2. I had so much ash i was cleaning every two days. Before I had to clean every two weeks. I hope this is a fluke. I'm trying another brand just to form another opinion.Just very disappointed.

We love Freedom pellets, we found out that tractor supply is not selling them this year, so we had to search for another supplier. they burn well, with little residual ash, and our auger never jams as with other brands. there was little to no breakage as we found with other pellets. We have had out stove many years. We moved it from pennsylvania to North Carolina. We used to use a brand that was made near us in Pennyslvania that we loved. We were happy to find this brand.

I have a Lopi Leyden and just purchased one ton of Freedom Fuel from Tractor Supply for $219. Pretty happy with the results. Average Btu's, much lower than average ash, and the window remained clean. I have bought some in the past with corn in them, but didn't effect my stove either way. I'v burned better pellets and burned much worse. I would buy these again at this price.

I have a Ouadfire Classic 1200 and the Freedom pellets are not burning as clean as the Firemakers or Exergex Pellets that I had use in past 2 years. The Freedom Pellets would bought in the spring of 2010 and are use now. This pellets are dirty and don't burning has well.
