Additional Info

  • Admin Review: Nov: 2017 - So these pellets have a mixed review........The bag was not a 40lb bag but rather smaller. I'm not sure if I received an "export" bag but non the less. The bag seems to have also changed... totally... from the good old 'trump bag" with a flag and all, to one that is less patriotic. These pellets absolutely did burn super hot. They seemed to be super dense with not much fines. I want to say that these are a southern yellow pine pellet. I could not find much info on online except to find out what the deal is. I had to clear out the burnpot in the morning but the heat was was nice! great pellet overall .

I had the same problems with Freedom pellets as one person as . The pellets are not as good as firemaker or exergxs pellets. The stove is Quadfire Classic Bay 1200. I wouldn't buy the Freedom pellets again.

Running an Upland 207 Pellet Stove. I am surprised the negative comments. I burned eight different brands this fall and settled on the Freedom Fuel. They do burn nice and hot with an attractive flame. I ran the stove continuously through a full ton before removing the ash and cleaning the burn pot. I weighed the ash at 8 lbs 6 oz or 0.42%. That is pretty good. I did notice some pellets with yellow sections that looked like it could be corn. The larger diameter fed nicely with little resistance on the motor.

I purchased 6 tons and I'm down to my last ton. I have 24 bags that were wet, not top bags, bags in the middle of the pallet. They burn very hot and are a bit messier than other pellets I've burned. I'm pretty sure this because they are softwood not hardwood. If the price were under $200/ton I would use them again, but I would make sure that I get all the wet bags back to the place I purchased them.

I had bought 4 tons of the Freedom pellets for this winter in a Quadra Fire Classic 1200 - I am having alot of issues with these pellets this year. I seem to be getting alot of over fire (where the pellet just is not burning properly) and resulting in high ash and clinkers. I had burned this brand in prior years with decent results. It seems that they changed the content of the pellet. It's either my stove or these pellets. I have started to mix the Freedom with Energex hardwood pellets and I am getting a better consistency of burn and cleaning alot less. Anyone else experiencing same?

I bought 2 tons of these pellets. The price was great at $187. They are very large in diameter so may be a problem in some stoves. They burn pretty hot with just average ash. I would buy again at this price.

I have been trying to burn a bag of these, but, after about 1/4 of a bag, my auger has clogged 8 times!! The diameter is too big. I thought the size was standard, but these are definitely bigger. The rest are going back!

bought 2 tons of freedom fuel this year(only brand H.D sold this year, however i see they changed their brand already) did notice they are much bigger and do get jammed in the hopper of my harmon 25 seem to burn much hotter though if i still had my older englander with an open auger these would be fine i had to turn up the fuel feed to 6 to keep the stove running without constantly stirring up the hopper
    NOT IMPRESSED

I have a harmon insert...I've been through about 10 bags so far. They burn hot, I've not noticed and corn in the bag, although the pellets are noticably thicker than some others (Greene Team, for example). They do seem to make a thicker ash, and they do carbon up more than others I've used....the window also gets mighty dirty a bit sooner. The key word here is "heat." All else is commentary.

Bought Freedom Fuel pellets. So much ash it wasn't funny. I had my stove on last night and there was so much ash built up that the ashes went through where the heat was supposed to go through and went all over my kitchen and into my living room. Had to open all the windows and use a fan to get the ashes out. Still smell ashes this morning. I just did a weekly cleaning on it last Saturday and had my stove professionally cleaned a month ago so I know it wasn't for lack of cleaning the stove. Just bought two tons thinking they were going to be okay. Don't waste your money. Now I am worried about running my stove while I am not home and have to worry about ash build up.

bought a bag to try and after opening it I was immediately worried...pellets were a lot thicker than what I am use to seeing and my first thought was auger jam....sure enough...my auger jammed...I wont be buying these again.
