Very poor pellets! Ran 4 tons of Fireside Ultra from H.D. from Nov-early March. I was able to run my 10 year old St. Croix Prescott stove 24/7 with shutdown every 3 days to vacuum burn pot/ash pan. No problems with the Fireside pellets-burn pot not clogged and expected amounts of ash.
Recently bought 15 bags of Green Supreme from Lowes and have to shut stove down every 24 hours to clean burn pot which is plugged with ash, also un-burnt pellets inside stove in ash pah-they do not burn well at all. I have also run 1/2 ton Lignetics in the stove this year with no problems. I will not buy Green Supreme again.
Paul from MA
We have used this product for the past six years , this is the first year with lots of small wood fines( dust fine) also small slivers of wood ! mill registration no. 16003
We purchased four tons from Lowes in Gilford n.h.
Greien supreme burn well but I get a lot of ash I have a harmon advance great stove have to clean every week not happy with that will try a different bran next yearReport
Worst pellet in the industry in my opinion. Either that or we got a bad batch. I am presently empty my ash pan twice a ton. I also clean my stove especially the esp probe twice a month. My stove hates this pellet.
Using a Whitfield Advantage II - 3 seasons ago I had excellent results using Inferno Pellets, I think the mix if soft and hard wood residues was good for my stove. Last year I used GS and halfway through got a load of higher end pellets because the GS was ashy and not so hot. Also was having a clinker problem. Had to run more air to avoid clinkers but heat output suffered. This season have only used GS, adjusted to the Lower heat value ( 130 degrees on setting 3 using 2 bags a day) - but got two tons now that are pushing 144 degrees on 3 and 128 on 2 (1 bag a day) . Still have soft clinkers I need to clear 2xday. It's all pretty ashy and vac around the grate 2 x day. Ash behind the baffles has been okay if I clean after every 20 bags. Redoing my door seal with the thickest dense rope I could get at Lunkers and the windows beginning of the season really helped.Report
These pellets are absolutely terrible. There are a lot of fines and they have oil additives. They don't burn as well and the ash content is off the charts. I need to clean my stove every couple of hours and the fines clogged up my auger twice. Note: I have only ran 120lbs through my stove. Unfortunately for me, I live in the north eastern part of the U.S. and we are experiencing extremely cold weather this year and these are the only pellets I can find this time of year. I bought them from home depot for $4.98 per bag.Report
I have a Napoleon stove, bought 3 tons from Lowes. Need to clean out burn pot every 2 days. Pellets don't burn, they must have a lot of moisture. Won't purchase again.Report
I have a Napoleon stove and unfortunately these pellets don't do good in it... I have to clean it out every 3-4 hours due to build-up and over flow of pellets because they don't break down as well as others. I would suggest buying a single bag and trying it in your stove before getting a ton... I wish I had and my parents are experiencing the same issues with their stove and these pellets also.Report
Not sure if its the pellet but our Harman P68a is running like shit since we started using these pellets! I cleaned the stove top to bottom and left to right plus called tech support, the suggested I change my combustion fan so I did to no avail. After just a few minutes my viewing glass is nothing but black spot and I have half burned pellets in my ash pan. I will try another hopper full with the Tractor Supply Brand and see if these issues go away.Report
I have a Napoleon insert stove. This is my 4th year burning Green Supreme .The heat is very good but this year seems there is way more ash than past years. They do burn good with no clunkersReport
