Very dissatisfied they have lots of saw dust and are very dirty to burn they make the most ash of any pellet I have burned.Report
I just purchased a new pellet stove this fall. tired of cutting wood and all the mess that goes with it. wasn't quite sure what brand of pellets to buy, so I just went out and got a few bags of several different brands. not knowing good from bad, just taking advise from different retailers. the store clerk at our local home depot told me about their brand that they sell. he said this green supreme pellet was the best out there. how hot they burn and how clean they burn, and how low dust there was per bag. so I took his advise and bought a whole skid of them. yes one ton. wow what a mistake!!! they are the dirtiest, dustiest , they actually shut my stove down after only two days of burning. when I opened the door I could not believe what I saw. so much build up beyond belief. every other pellet that I had tried before these were ten times cleaner. now I'm stuck with 40+ bags of garbage. if it wasn't for having to load them all back up one bag at a time on my trailer they would all go back. the only way I can burn them is I have to shut my stove down EVERY DAY!!! and clean it. these pellets are nothing but JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!Report
They sick.I use the sawdust for oildry.if I had a shredder I,d make more oil dry for my shopReport
I have burnt pellets for many years now. Green Supreme are a great pellet for your money. They burn hot and they are not as ashy as other cheap pellets. The only other cheap pellet I used is the Pennington. They are good, but not as hot as the Green Supreme.Report
I have had a New England pellet stove for many years and this is the first time I had the most disgusting pellets ever. Green Supreme claims clean burning low ash? It is a total scam. After two days of burning these nasty pellets, I have to shut the stove off and clean big chunks of black dust in the burner area - the front glass is covered in total BLACK dust that I have to take off with a razor blade. When I pour a bag of pellets into a bucket, the dust from the bag blasts into my face. These pellets need to be taken off the market as I know there are so many chemicals in them causing huge chunks of black gross pieces.Report
inconsistent pellets (size) , plenty of fines, plenty of ash and clinkers overall these pellets are a waste of money . Low heat also ,the need to increase damper to get pellets to do a full burn is also indicative of poor quality of pellets. These pellets are manufactured in NY state in Deposit NY at an old Celotex plant so god knows what their putting in them.Report
Here is my follow-up to my 24-SEP-2014 post.
They look and smell just like the New England Wood Pellets I bought a ton of.
They even have the same comment (cal hardwood ash content and nice heat too. I'll save my Okanagan Doug Firs for the coldest weather in February.
2014 Quadrafire Mt Vernon AE and Castile stoves. BOTH like em...
WE bought Green Supreme near Sanford Maine and they were great..even cheaper..we had tried seven different brands, had never burned wood pellets before only stove wood. We wanted to try several brands in a our new pellet stove...pellets are less messy and heat at a more even controlled temperature 24/7. We reccommend this brand to everyone.Report
We have a Harmon pellet boiler. And we love it. It heats nearly 2800 sq. ft. And domestic hot water for 9 people. We have tried a number of pellets and the Green Supreme are the best by far. I clean the furnace every couple of months and empty the huge ash pan 3 or 4 times a year. We burn year round. We bought Green Supreme's Aubuchon Hardware and Lowes with the same great results. We burn 10 - 12 ton a year.Report
Just bought my first bags of this at Lowes. The label says they have Soy oil so I'm wondering if that's where the sooty nature comes from. My Quadrafire Mt Vernon manual warns not to use pellets with soy oil. A friend with the same stove says they burn great in it. We will see...Report
