had three ton delivered to my home from a local building center. have used them in the past, they are dirty and soot up the glass. this year i had swelled up bags of pellets and lots of them from all three pallets. the full pallets were wrapped in plastic and kept outside at the yard but that's how everyone stores them. bags of swelled up pellets were all over in the pallet top to bottom which tells me that heartland has some kind of problem at their factory. the building center has exchanged the swelled up bags so that's good. i have not contacted heartland because i suspected that the building center would so don't know the exact problem but this will be the last year i will use their pellets, too dirty, too swelled up and there are other brands available here that are better for the same price.

the best money spent for pellet heating is this brand. I drive 40 miles just to get one bag if I needed too

Discovered Heartland pellets halfway through the 2013 heating season. Burned great.

Local dealer could not get them in 2014. Tried to burn 3 tons of AWP junk. Terrible pettets. Size variation up to 3,25" in length!

Dealer got Heartland again this year. Bought one ton and they burn flawlessly in my two stoves. Going to buy three more tons next week.

    MagnuM Countryside 3500P.
    NW IOWA
I just bought this stove 2 months ago,
I ran 5 bags of INDECK ENERGY Pellets throgh it and worked verry good hardly no ash.
So i thought i would try something differant. The local farm store had HEARTLAND FROM SPEARFISH SD
They burn good and hot but alot of cinders and black soot. Halfway through the first bag the auger was making a dry sqauking niose just got worse as went along. So i shut it down. The next morning i went to pull the auger out and had a hard time getting it out. I cleaned the stove and changed back to INDECK and no more soot and noise the went away.
2 weeks later my local store didnt have INDECK so went to the other place and got a few bags of the heartland. and now an hour after running them i have the auger noise again. sounds like something that needs oiled. You also can tell that the motor is working harder to turn the auger. I guess i can't burn these HEARTLAND PELLETS in my MagnuM Countryside 3500P
TO BADD they burn hot but very sooty and maybe creosote making the noise?

One day of Heartlands in N. WI and already creosote on sides in my P68 Harman. Glass clear, temps better than same weather and settings using Indecks, less ash. What is with the creosote. Also better verticle flame wall in P68, and no flame licking the glass or smoky burn in chamber.

Just got Heartlands fm Ace Hdwr in WI. Big pellets compared to Indeck I was using. Was cleaning way too much but these were an option on way to sold out LUMBERJACK pellets. In NH, same HarmN P68 monster ashed 1 can in 3.5 tons on NEW ENGLAND PELLETS. Indeck has me cleaning every fifteen bags. WI storm blowdown wood much avail so wonder if popple and bbasswood lowering BTUs....

Had blackening problem with a few, but thought it was down to dirty heat exchanger, or wet fuel. Once I cleaned the stove, I stored the pallets inside the garage (above freezing) and move a weeks worth of bags into the house every week, so as can be even drier. Best pellets I can get locally in my area, Salida, CO. I think my problems are from poorly maintained Quadrafie, than the pellets. Cleanout of stove every 7-14 bags for me before problems, and cleanout of heat exchanger every 14 to 21 bags. But part of my HE muckup problems are due to the QF control box dropping in too much pellet, too infrequently, instead of less more frequently.

Englander Pdv25 stove. Very dirty burning, glass needs cleaned every 6 to 8 hours. Leave charcoal in the shape of the pellets that is not completely burned. Piles of clickers. Does not change with different feed or fan settings. We will avoid this brand in the future. Last year we used Rocky Mountain pellets that left very little ash and were very hot and clean.
