A Canadian 100% softwood pellet.
They did OK in my stove, But I was expecting more from them. More heat and less ash to be exact. Not as topshelf as the other Canadian softwoods out there. Not saying I won't burn them. But I won't pay top dollar for them either. About a middle of the road average grade. Nothing out of spec, But with the other Canadian sofwoods running well above average. The McFeeters fell way short of the mark.

Very low fines, Decent heat. Clean pine smell. Nothing out of spec.
Not as clean as some of the other softwoods I'm used to.
Platinum Fire softwoods
Good heat and burned clean. They smell nice. Definetly an above average pellet.
I have been hearing that the New England Wood Pellets Schuyler, NY plant has made improvements and with these results I see exactly what they were talking about.
Jeff Nichols from Great American sent this sample to me for testing.
I have added these to my watch out for list. Depending on local price's they could be a bargain! Well with in my scope of a good quality Premium grade pellet and the best chipped log pellet I have burned to date! Almost made the Super Premium ash level standard! I'm very impressed overall!
Note: These pellets were UPS'd to my door step. I am sure they were not easy with them and this could effect the fines level.
Low fines and minimal dust. decent heat. Good burn length. strong bag!
Waxy smell
Thanks to Brian from Curran for the sample!
Extremely low fines
Waxy smell. Seems all the Currans have this smell. Must be the binder there are using
Thanks to Brian from Curran for the sample!
The fines are mostly from these being UPSed to my door step. Probably throw from the truck to the step as well.
Thanks to Brian from Curran for the sample!
I was asked by Brian from Curran to give the Currans a spot check. He sent me 1 bag of each Softwoods, Hardwoods and the Blend. I burned the Softwoods this weekend. One of the coldest of the season so far. These pellets had no issues keeping the house toasty. Here are the results of the softwoods. I will post the Hardwood and Blend results when I can get to them.
I was contacted by my local pellet dealer. They had a surprise for me. She said that Corinth has been upgrading there process and sent them a sample for me to post on a review site. So here goes.
I was pleased with what they have done at Corinth with this latest production batch. Burned pretty darned good and the heat was outstanding. Ash was very light in texture. Fines were minimal. Definetly a pellet I will keep an eye out for this spring. Only thing is there in the same bag as the older batches. So you would have to ask when they were delivered. Late November early December should be the latest offerings from Corinth.
Hard to tell new batch from the old batches. Both have the same bag.
