Big Heat Wood Pellets

Rate this item
(70 votes)

Big Heat Fuel Pellets are produced from clean, kiln-dried wood by-products. These by-products would normally be sent to landfills, but through new reduction technology, we are able to use them as our pre-pellet fiber. We take great care in the screening and selection of our wood fiber to ensure a high quality wood fuel pellet.

Equustock Wood Fibers, LLC is dedicated to a full circle recycle program that reduces landfill waste, improves wood fuel pellet quality, and ultimately provides for a clean reliable fuel resource for home and commercial application.

Big Heat wood pellets;

    Only have run 2 bags through the stove and an impressed considering they are softies at a reasonable price. Heat was very good, pellet quality was good as well as they were consistent in size 1/2". Only having burned 2 bags not sure of the overall ash situation but with them more than acceptable considering price in comparison to similarly priced pellets, usually a mixed blend of hardwood and softwood. There was some soft pellets but not a lot and it didn't seem to affect the heat output to much. Overall for me a decent pellet and I would certainly purchase them again. My stoves are both Harman and one drop pellet stove a Pelpro pp130 the Harman's are a P68 and P43.

    Produce very coarse dark grayish ash. Inconsistent pellet size under 1/4" all the way to over 1". Worse part is they plug the firepot with heavy carbon deposits. Firepot needs to be cleaned every 12hr or it won't lite. I used indeck before and they were very clean with no carbon deposits at all would go weeks before firepot needed cleaning. These are junk.

    Worst pellets I've ever used. They stain everything orange and they produce a ton of ash.

    One thing I found was the bag is very loosely packed and handling causes a problem. Seems to burn well and ash is low.

    It is estimated that every Ton of wood fuel pellets replaces 120 Gallons of fuel oil.

    I've been doing a lot of research on Pellets lately and it seems you have to start with what's available in your area . A lot of the same pellets are used in different bags . One thing to look for is pellet length it seems that shorter is better less feed problems , I also think that a blend of hard and soft wood is a good thing for heat and burn time , and then there's price don't go for the high price pellets you are only paying for the extra shipping cost because the plant in on the other side of the country. Thanks and have a good one . . . Russ . .

    We were desperate for pellets and everyone was sold out. We had looked up reviews on this brand and they weren't the best...but as it turns out these are great. Very clean and better than others we have had. Im stoked
