1st time purchasing Blackstone ,I have a Avalon Astoria stove 100 lb hopper for 10 years , Blackstone is a decent pellet just as good if not better then another pellet I've purchased in its price range , like all pellets some air fuel mixture adjustments apply .I for one draw outside air into my stove and try to adjust the flame with the damper to get a nice flame thats not to busy also I up graded my ash pot a few years ago that accepts ( corn fuel never used it )BUT THE ASH POT SURELY made a big difference that I order from Mountain View , so yes happy with blackstone 1st ton 245.00 no tax helps curb my oil consumption , yes I would recommend Blackstone and will purchase it again Bob NY

Same pellets as Still River. Same trash. So much dust I had to use a screen to separate it . They burn filthy and the glass turns black in a few minutes . Heat output is trash.
These shouldn't even be allowed to be sold.

    Made by Eastford wood fiber.

Stay away from them, plug stove with saw dust. They will not compensate those of us that bought several ton last year and are still suffering. Every bag must be
screened and owner will not help or answer email sent to him. Was promised last fall they would reduce the price but am now told the person who I talked to is
    no longer there. How strange.

I've never had a problem with my Harmon stove until now! Your pellets are have so much dust in the bag that it's choking the auger and the stove dies out.
What can you do to help he with this problem ?

Hello folks!! First let me introduce my self as I am the Plant Manager for Blackstone Wood Pellets. We very much appreciate the feedback from customers whether it is good or bad. Positive feedback lets us know what we are doing well, and the negative lets us know if we have a problem we may need to address. In reading the below posts I noticed the main complaint was an issue with "fines or small bits" in the bag. We do apologize for the problems and take the issue very seriously.
Unfortunately last year we received a defective "die" that failed to compress the wood pellet properly. We did find the issue last year as a result of our in-house quality control process and outside testing which is done independently by the University of Maine and corrected the issue. We made every effort to quarantine the suspect product that was produced and swap out what was in the market. We apologize to anyone who may have received this product and hope that you will give our product another chance moving forward.

    Thank you,

    J Tanner

Gotta say that im taken back by the comments regarding the quality and performance of these pellets. I have had great success with these so far. I have a QUADRAFIRE MT. VERNON stove and burn great. All stoves perform different so the story goes!!!

I have a Whitfield stove and I have never had any issues burning until using the Blackstone "Premium" pellets. I ordered a half ton without testing them first, big mistake. Every bag has had a ton of sawdust in it. They take forever to light off and I have to run my stove on high all the time to get any heat out of them even though it has been such a mild winter so far.. I am very disappointed. I should have went with the garbage Lowes sells, they worked better than these. The best pellets I have ever burned are the somerset pellets. Running the unit on low will still cook you out of the room. Unfortunately my dealer wants $400 a ton and no one else local sells them.

Horrible amounts of sawdust and tiny pieces. So much so that the pellets will not settlee to the bottom of the hopper,
