I have 2 pellet insert stoves Quadra-fire Mt Vernon and a Harmon. I used the soft wood pellets for the first time this year. They do burn hotter, cleaner with a lot less ash, and seem to last a little longer. The draw back is there are way too much fine particles that they jam the agar up quite often on the Mt Vernon Stove. I do like the fact that I don't have to empty the ash draw as much but its a pain in the tosh to unjam the agar which usually happens while I'm sleeping and I wake up to a chilly house. Not sure if I will burn them again but if I do I will try to find some kind of strainer to scoop pellets out of the bags so the fine particles don't clog my agar any more.
