I have an Enviro Maxx-1 now for 3 winters this being the 3rd. It is a great pellet stove. I need some help after smelling smoke in the house I began my weekly cleaning and when I opened up the ash bin door the inside of the door was completely crystallized with creosote and the gasket was soaked with the same crystallized creosote. I am going to guess that this is a gasket problem? It certainly looks as if the gasket needs replacement. Something I use to do on wood stoves but this is my first pellet stove. The factory one on it has what looks like a sewn seam where the ends are joined together. Is there a trick to installing a gasket to simulate this type of seam? I actually clean the stove completely with vacuum and empty ash bin every 12 to 14 bags. Please get back to me if you have been through this before.

just bought the maxx-m, the auger keeps the pot clean which is nice, the stove does crank out the heat nicely, it is quite loud though...mostly the air circ blower...if it was possible to have it moved outside of the stove and put it in an insulated cavity of some kind it might reduce the noise...as is done with low db bathroom fans, as far as I'm concerned having the 130lb hopper is the only way to go other wise it would too much of a pain to have to fill everyday...as it is we only need to top it off once every three days. It is a bit bland looking...could use some soapstone accents to make it look as high priced as it is:) Great heat though.

Bought the Enviro Maxx Multifuel for the 2011-12 winter. We are in the Baltimore area and have 2 heat pumps for our 3500sf rancher with vaulted ceilings. Cost to run electric backup heat on nights too cold for heat pumps is about $15/night. Cost to run Maxx for same period is about 1 bag at $3.60 a bag. ($180/ton) Should take about 4.5 years to return the purchase and install price. Why buy - no natural gas availability and wood stove smoke and dirt are no good for child's asthma. Also only place you can feel warm since heat pumps only blow "luke warm" air. Simple operation, very infrequent cleaning. Large hopper holds 3 bags. Cons - fan is similar to running a window fan on high. The noise is not annoying but makes understanding the TV difficult. Moved the TV to another room. Pellet drop and occasional clinker bar turning will keep you awake until you are used to it. Suggest you install it in the room you will be in - not the basement. In my case the dining room between kitchen and living room. Away from the bedrooms. After living with it for a year we are amazed anyone purchases the smaller sized pellet stoves. They must really be only good for room heating. The Maxx is for home heating and with a hopper large enough to be loaded once every few days. Strongly suggest you see stoves in operation before purchase. I did and knew how loud it would be.

I bought my Maxx in Dec 2011. Absotuley the best thing I have done in a good while. It eally throws the heat...but the heat setting levels equate to bags per day. If you are on 5 then back up the truck! On 3 this thing heats my northern NH house with minimal insulation. Will by the mini next for the cold area of the house.

Best choice we ever made! We're located in southern NH and our home was built in the mid 1800's with no insulation. We are slowly working on adding insulation, one room at a time. We bought our Enviro Maxx stove in November 2009 after our other smaller pellet stove crapped out. Boy, this baby cranks out the heat, 90 degrees on setting 2, we had to install a thermostat to regulate the stove. We now we enjoy a constant 70 degrees 24/7 from November to April for less than $7 per day using a certified premium softwood blend fuel. If you want to stay warm without making the oil companies richer this stove will not disappoint you in comfort and savings!
