These are by far the best pellets I have ever used. Virtually no ash!
Hard to find, though. Only one place here carries them.
does anyone know if are these Green Mountain pellets are made from wood waste or are trees specifically cut down to produce these pellets?Report
I have been burning pellets in my Mount Vernon Quadra Fire for five years. I wanted to buy a Vermont product and while I loved the Vermont wood pellet, they were hard to get. Now that Green Mountain is on line, I have burned them, and they are great. High heat, low ash and locally produced. While the winter is winding down. I can't wait til next year and get more of the Green Mountain product. I looked into their production and they have a new way of drying the wood prior to making the pellets that is apparently keeping more of the resins in the wood and that supplies more of the heat value (and puts less VOC out the stack at their production facility.)
all in all, it looks like Green Mountain is on to something.
