  • Admin Review: Sept 2014; Looking to be a nice pellet! These pellets are milled in Georgia and are 100% southern yellow pine. they burn real hot and clean. I'm impressed with the little ash they produced. At first I was sure they were a blended pellet. The look and smell reminded me of the New England Pellets. Thumbs up here.

I've purchased 3 tons this year 2016 and they don't seem to be as good as last years. The heat output as last years was wondering if anyone else have had the same complaint

The only pellet I have ever used that causes significant clinkers--enough to stop the stove from restarting (this occurs every other day). I tried adjusting the feed rate, cleaning everything out--nothing works. Maybe I got a bad batch. This was my first softwood pellet. I usually get Hamers Hot Ones. I will not get this pellet again.

Burned 2 tons of these in my Harman p38, and am very pleased. Great heat, very little ash. Was able to go about 4 weeks between cleanings. Excellent pellet. Wish I had bought more, and will look for these again next season.

Trying out two bags in my Comfortbilt HP22 stove. Much better than brand supplied by blue big box store. No discernible odor like La Crete which I reviewed a couple of days ago. For my stove, at least, burn rate matches feed rate so there is no overfeeding. I tried OKANAGAN Douglas fir the burn and feed rate didn't match and I had overflow. So far the beat I've tried.

Premium price with lots of auger jams with my Mt Vernon AE! I tried to filter as much of the fines out when filling my stove however once a week I would have to empty and clean out the fines that were packed in the auger. Never had this issue with Hamers or Lacrete's and I've burned about 15 tons. Pellets are a darker color for a softwood but I’m not too concerned about that. I will say that they do put out decent heat but they aren't even close to being a premium pellet. I wouldn't waste your money on these pellets. There are far better options out there with less headaches and auger jams.

Hi. i'm into my 2nd year with a Revelli RV80 top-feeder stove and love it. The first ton of pellets I ran were Oke RED BAG. I set the air/fuel ratio and ran the whole ton with no soot, no ash in the pipe to clean, just dump the ash box once a week. I switched and tried these Gold bag Oke cuz the Red bag wasn't available and to be honest, in my style top-feeder they are terrible. No matter how hard a fire I set with the air/fuel mix it will load my burn bot with a "puck" of ash and plug up with each burn cycle, not even each bag. The Gold's seem to have more crap/dust/particle content and have a larger diameter and range of size than the Red/black Oke bag. I'll be giving the 10 bags remaining to my father in law to burn in his 18 yr old bottom feeder stove.

Looks like I'm at it again! Paid premium price for another so called premium pellet and issues already! I have a super clean 3 year old Quadrafire CB 1200 that is cleaned religiously... Paid $300/ton and must say the early verdict is not good! Not a lot of fines but sawdust is ridiculous! I have already had the auger jam twice with sawdust! Had to empty the entire hopper to vacuum out. Once done the stove runs great again! I had this same issue last year with the so called super premium Vermont Wood Pellets! The Okanagan Gold does have decent heat, but if the auger has jammed twice already and it's only end of November, going to be a long 4 ton season of auger jams! What the #%*+¥£€!
