  Don't be fooled by USStove claiming they are great and have been in business for x number of years. Bought my pelet king 2 years ago for $1300. The ignitor went after a month but when I called customer service was told it was because a thermostat was hooked up. Now that I removed the thermostat I was figuring it would light up.NO! and when I called customer service I was told I was ill and hung up on. The second person I spoke to told me that person one lied to me 2 years ago, that the ignitor should be running even on thermostat. Several other reviews I read say the same problem with ignitor. It never heated my 2000 sq foot house even though the specs say it will. Save your money and go with another more competant company.

  Wow my king has been flawless running for almost 3 years now.I clean it out once a month heat season,then a total in depth clean before season use.Have replaced door seals and blower motors year 2 as PM.But I now have a blower and a combustion extra in case new ones fail.My stove runs great all day long (5510) and runs somewhat quiet.You must pay attention to pellets/corn/materials you use in it also! These are not Gas logs so they do require maintenance!I will be replacing the auger in it this year only because its pushing over 3 years run time.But this is all done as preventive maintenance.Door seals should be replaced every 2 years and completely cleaned out every season!This means take out burn pot and un bolt pot holder, remove trap doors on sides and suck out all that built up ash behind it.Its much better then chopping/haling wood.Buying a different stove isn't going to save you folks because if you cant clean/PM the 5500 your going to have same issues with a jap imported pellet stove too.ANYTHING man made will break down! Key is to notice and fix it before it does.

  I have a model 5500M. The first season it worked great. This season I am having trouble. The stove when cooled off will run about 4 hours and then start making a loud noise. It will continue for about 2 to 4 hours and the flame will go out and the house will fill with smoke. When the flame goes out the loud noise will stop and if I am awake I will turn the stove off and it wont smoke the house up. The house dont feel as warm as it should. Can anyone help me with this? It is my only heat sorce.

  this stove heats my 2 bed raised ranch in ri on 2 out of 5 it gets my hole house 74 degrees ore better i would recommend this stove like anything just keep it clean and it will work just fine i burn about 1 and half bag a day love it

  In October 2011, we purchased a used (2 year old) King 5510. In a small house, it was too large for the previous owners. We have enjoyed this stove immensely! Yes, you have to seal the clean out doors with high temp caulk. Yes, I do have to replace the ignitor every season at $40 p pop. Yes, it is noisier than a furnace in the basement. Yes, I do have to clean it out every week or so in cool weather and every 3-4 days during the winter. However, the trade offs are fantastic. I'm not in hock to the oil company for $2500 or more per year. Last winter '11-'12, we used a little over 4 tons of pellets at $275 per ton. (You do the math). Nothing beats having the living/dining room at 74-76 degrees and being able to warm my back side by the stove after shoveling snow. This monster really works! And it holds 3 bags of pellets. We run it at 2 bags a day until it really gets cold (around here that's late January thru probably early March). When it's cold, we crank it up to 3 a day. It's controlled by the thermostat on the wall, which used to be hooked up to the oil burner. I spent 13 years in New Hampshire heating with wood in a Vermont Castings Defiant, which I dearly loved. The King 5510 might not look as nice as the Defiant, but it keeps us as toasty as we want. I can't say enough good about it. BTW, we're in southeastern PA, about 20 miles from Philadelphia.

  I have a 5500XL. The control board was foundto be bad when we bought it, so a new one was provided free of cost. 3 years later, the panel has failed & no adjustment can be made. THE STOVE IS EXCEPTIONALLY NOISY. DON'T BUY THIS BRAND!

  Stay away from this brand. Thought i'd save a few bucks buying this, but it has been a constant nightmare. It has been one problem after another... several bad ignitors, faulty door seal, fault clean out doors. I have to manually go in and caulk the doors to all the clean out because they leaked air so bad. The noise it makes is unbearable at times.
  
  It is an embarrassment that a US company manufactures such a substandard product.

  My wife & I Have a 5500 model, The first week the stove worked fine. The stove since then builds up the burn pot and doesn't have enough air to burn the pellets. We end up cleaning it out every day, Its more work than our fireplace. I think we are going to buy a Harman. I have a Harman pellet stove in my garage that uses half the fuel with no problems. (garage is 43Ft x 70Ft 13Ft ceiling.

  I just hooked a new 5500m us stove and it starts and runs for about 15 min and then error 3 occurs. My flame looks good and then pellets stop going into the basket. My manual says what it is but how do I fix it

  I could not have been more disappointed in this item. I purchased the model 5500M (essentially the same in appearance and specs) on 10/24/11 from Tractor Supply. Installation was easy and the stove worked for about 7 hours before it errored out. After several days of failed attempts with U.S. Stove's support staff (which, by the way, is only available from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday), they decided it was a bad pressure switch. They claimed it could not be sent expedited and it took 10 days to arrive. In the meantime I convinced the retailer to let me swap out pressure switches with another stove they had. It fixed that error, but that started a series of additional errors about which U.S. Stove's support staff "guessed" at fixing. I finally gave up and took the stove back and got another one of the same model. Guess what? A whole new series of errors and problems which were completely different from the first stove. U.S. Stove's determination? Another bad pressure switch! After replacing that switch also, nothing changed. I am taking this stove back and never buying one of their products again. Between poor quality and weak support, I would have scored this stove and company zero stars if that was an option.
