Can you use the pellets in a smoker barbecue
i bought 6, 40lb. bags of canawick wood burning pellets and they are the worst wood burning pellets i have ever bought, i have so far used 3 bags and there is such a strong oder coming from them i can’t stand the smell of my house, i have to use steel wool scrubbing pad to clean my glass door of my pellet stove, all they do is smoke and hardly burn, there is nowhere in my town that sell any more wood pellets, so the only alternative i have to use is electric which is very expensive as it is now -40 degrees cold,i would appreciate knowing what you are going to do about this, definitely not impressed with your product
Crossed the border to take advantage of the high dollar right now and tried some CanaWick Pellets. I had been eager to try them in my Harmon XXV as other Canawick products I have used have been excellent. Only on my 3rd bag so true conclusions cannot be affirmed. Initial experience is they burn well, no clinkers, are clean burners, but only moderately hot. I expected the full 40 lb bag in the hopper to give me more burn time. I have 3 more bags to burn in this experiment.
Would can wick pellets be good for mini enviro pellet stove need short cut hardwood?
I use canawick pellets when there available..all the local stores around here have been sold out for weeks now..sucks cause they give off such great heat..
I live in central maine..
I have been using these pellets in a US Stoves Eco 2400 Model for 2.5 Years now.
First 3 months I had Eastern Embers Pellets, they burn cleaner, and the pot doesn’t fill up as quickly, however they produced less heat. I decided to try 10 bags of these from my local Canadian Tire and Haven’t looked back since!
I have to clean the burn pot every 2 days as it is a Window insert pellet stove and has a smaller burn pot than most units.
In the 2.5 years I have been burning these, they have been great, except my leftovers from last year may have gotten damp, and didn’t burn as well, but the new batch this year burns even better than last years supply!
I keep my living room, and main areas at 24 Degrees Celcius, and the rest of the house close to 20 with the stove being the primary source of heat except on the very cold days!
I Recommend everyone try these out!
Can Wick Pellets Burn great! I get them for $235 a pallet in Madawaska, Maine. One of the coldest places in New England. We just had a whole week of Minus 20 – 30 degrees plus. Not counting wind chill. And these pellets gave out great heat. I live right next to the new brunswick Canadian Border. And these pellets from NB are really good! I burn them in my Harman Pellet stove.
I love Canawick pellets- the best BTU value I’ve found. 4 year old Harman Accentra Insert. Have burned a dozen or so brands, including Cubex, Barefoot, NEWP, Turman, and some box store pellets. For the money, these are the best- super hot- very close if not equal to Cubex, which are more expensive. Super clean, with minimal ash and clinker build up on burn pot. I’m wondering why the Canadians make the best pellets I’ve burned. FWIW, I’m told that the pellets consist of 90% maple, yellow birch, beech, and ash, with a 10% softwood binder. Their bricks are also the best, which I understand are rock maple.
I’ve read some negative things that I can’t understand, but I know that some stoves like different pellets. My stove loves Canawicks.
i got 150 bag @ 4.77 CND At Rona in NB Canada and there was no dust… pellets were burning really good ! I guess there was a bad batch last year beacause the product i see here is not what i see in the other comment @ all
i’m really happy and i will buy again next year !
There is a lot of soot on my glass of my Breckwell P4000. I just wanted to try out this company to see how good they are. I have to clean the glass once a day to even see the flame. They do create tons of heat from them but the flame isn’t constant, even at a low setting (yes I know how to use the damper). Ill try another company for now, but maybe in the future this company will show more promise. I will try them again next year for sure.
