The reason for the consistently high quality? Unlike almost all of our competitors, we use our own wood fiber from our other operations. By controlling the quality and moisture content of the wood fiber, and using the most advanced manufacturing technology in the industry, we’re able to consistently deliver a high-quality product. My pellet stove is a Volgasang. Yesterday I bought 10 bags at Kent and when I got home I put a bag in the hopper. During the night I was awaken by a distinct foul smell. It came from the pellets . I sprayed with fabreeze, lit sensed candles and put air wick on high setting. The smell continued so i took pellets out of hopper and put them back in bag into the garage. Then turned on pellet stove to burn what was left in hopper. The smell is finally subsiding some and I plan on returning the comfy cozy pellets back to Kent for refund. It was my first time burning softwood pellets. Always burned hardwood in the past with no smell! In my opinion comfy cozy pellets stink real bad! I can’t wait for the stench to be out of my House!
Why do comfy cozy wood pellets have a sour smell? Is there anything I can do for it?
Poor quality, inconsistent size, high ash content, very dirty burning , low heat.
Live in northern Maine and am a first year pellet stove user. I share most of experiences, good and bad, using Comfy Cozy pellets. Overall I use these pellets when available because I have found them to be better than others I have tried.
Garbage product. I tried them recently, purchased from Kent and paid too much for them. Ash was average, clinkers were excessive, heat was less. I have a Harman P38. Tried the C-Tire product too, not bad, some dust. The best so far come from Nova Scotia. Will stay with that product now for certain “Eastern Embers”
i burned comfy cozy the first two years i had a pellet stove..they were the best i have ever used.i have been using a pellet stove for seven years now..i cannot find them any more.
comfy cosy ? that’s debatable. I find that comfy cosy pellets may be a good price and produce little ash but you need to burn more of them to produce the same amount of heat, which in the grand scheme of things renders their lower price a mute point. If you have a newer home that is more efficient to start with then they are a great pellet for you. If your drapes blow in the breeze or you put plastic on your windows every winter I would recommend a different brand.
Purchased these from Canadian tire as they had the best price @ $5.99 / bag but very dissatisfied with the heat output and the amount of build up on the glass of our quad rafter stove. These are cheap to purchase but feel you are getting what you pay for
Not impressed. Bought 4 bags to try. Smelled a little “off”. Size seemed decent though a little less consistent than other brands I have burned. Heat was disappointing. Quite a bit of dust in the bag. Okies, Corinth and NEWP all were a better burn in my opinion. Picked these up at a Hearth Works on 28 bypass. Burned in Harman Accentra
I just purchased a large order of Comfy Cozy wood pellets. Immediately I noticed an “unclean” odor coming from the stove when these pellets were used. The odor appears worse when the stove has been just shut off or if the stove ran out of pellets.
Can you tell me if this is a common problem?
