Review of Cubex Wood Pellets
Oct 2014: These are still one of my all time favourite pellets! This years run I’m seeing incredibly low ash but I do have to scrap the burnpot every morning to get the slight ash build-up down into the ash pan. The heat output is incredible and I will trade a little extra work for the added heat.
Nov-2017Just got done with a bag and these get a thumbs up! Very nice and dense pellet which gives off great heat. The ash was not bad and the heat was very nice.

I Like cubex pellets, they burn cleaner and hotter than the New England that we use to burn and a lot less ash.

First and last time user
The pellets are good. The packaging sucks. The bags are perforated. I believe it is to let the air out when packaging. It let’s air out but moisture in. I keep my pellets in a shed. In their own packaging, only pulling out what I need for a day or two. Then I pull the plastic back over. I have never had this problem with NE wood pellets or others. The others do not perforate their bags. I will not buy these again unless the improve their bags. It is a shame. I could have heated with propane for the same cost after having the waste of pellets. I will probably have to heat the rest of the season with propane @ $4.00 a gallon. Live and learn.

Average bag weights 38 lbs and under!
Great pellets but the bags weigh 38 lbs and under. I have an 80lb hopper and two bags don’t even come close to filling my hopper. That’s a big difference when you’re buying a ton at a time.

BAD BATCH ?
Hello I have been using these pellets for 4 years now purchase every year from the same dealer In Harrowsmith Ontario BUT this year my stove glass keeps turning black as the stove & had quite a bit of dust in each bag .Went to CTC & purchased 6 bags of Energex pellets & found NO dust in the bags & the stove glass stayed clear during the burning of these 6 bags switched back to the CUBEX because I have 6 tons of these & the glass went black again I hope it is just this skid of 75 that is causing the problem ? Hope the next skid of 75 I open does NOT do the same kind of a pain having to clean the glass all the time ,When burning these glass will blacken up in about 1 hour of burning time .I guess I will just keep burn the remaining 3 skids I have 4.5 TONS because they are bought & paid for & hope for the best. Guess you are not suppose to see the flame with these ? Costing more for the glass cleaner !

Good pellets
Only complaint is they seem to leave a caked on layer of ash in the burnpot that needs to be scraped hard on a regular basis that I do not get with some less expensive pellets. Heat output is great, seems like maybe there is a tradeoff for more heat vs. less work. May use these next year for just the coldest days vs. entire winter

Sifting pellets
Have burned Cubex pellets for a few years and no problems, however this batch I’ve had to sift each bag to prevent my hopper and stove from filling up with fines and wood dust. So far 1/2 ton has resulted in about 3 gallons of fines/dust. Great heat and low ash but getting tired of sifting bags.
