only whole logs harvested through Timber Stand Improvement projects. (More on that later.) Immediately before the logs enter our production process, we strip off all the bark, dirt and debris to insure that only pure hardwood enters our process. Pure Hardwood. Perfect Burn.
Next it takes the right process.
We designed everything in our state of the art plant around producing the best quality pellet.

Great American Pellets are the worst pellets I have burned in my Harman Accentra stove loads of ash have to clean stove weekly clinkers galore. Bought a ton wont buy again. You get what you pay for :((((((
Will never buy these again – bought 3 tons of these for the 2012 / 2013 season and was spellbound by the price they were offered at (should have been a sign). I have had trouble keeping the stove going all season long – clinkers clinkers clinkers. I cleaned my stover last night and emptied 80lbs into the hopper, woke up at 5:00AM this morning to a completely full ash pot full of clinkers and the stove shut down. Earlier in the season I had been burning these with similar problems. I had about 20 bags of New England Wood Pellets left over from last season (this is not a plug for their brand this is just simple fact) and decided to switch to these in early February – stove ran fine without issue for 9 days straight before I shut her down for a cleaning, burned much much hotter than the Great Americans as well. Bottom line these are garbage and I will never buy again.
I have two Harmon Stoves. Great American pellets are the Worst. as stated above. you have to clean the tray Daily compared to PA Pellets. Bought a Ton, never again. I will use the house Oil heat befor I use G.A. again
Purchased 3 tons of Great American at the suggestion of my stove supplier. I have a Lopi Yankee Bay and had no problems last year at all. Burned three tons. Now, I can’t keep the stove going because of the ash and clinkers. Need to scrape burn pot two times a day and ash fills the burn pot and surrounding area 2-3 inches deep before it chokes out. That’s in less than one day. Not happy at all with this fuel.
We have been burning pellets in our ‘Breckwell Big E’ for five( 5) years. We historically cleaned the stove once a week with Great American Pellets, now EVERY OTHER DAY!! The ash draw is always nearly full or over flowing. The burn pot has to be emptied and scraped, more often than not partially ever day.
We are NOT Happy Campers!
I have a Harman P43 pellet stove. Purchased a ton of Great American pellets. Big mistake. Alot of ash, & clinkers. My daughter has a Harman P43 also. They have the same problems. Please learn by my mistake. DO NOT BUY GREAT AMERICAN PELLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Whitfield pellet stove that is about 17 years old. I have been using Hamers pellets for several years with excellent results. Last spring I bought 3 tons of Great American at the suggestion of my retailer. I’m sorry to say that was a HUGE mistake. Great American does not burn as hot, has a very high ash content and some of the pellets are so long that they jam up my stove. I have to sift through the pellets while I am dumping them into the stove to break the very long ones in half. It takes me around 20 minutes to dump a bags worth into the stove. 13 bags of Great American have produced about a 3/4 full ash bucket of ash while the 4 1/2 tons of Hamers that I burned last winter produced 3 buckets of ash 3/4 full. I have used Barefoot and Stove Chow in the past as well, and was satisfied with them, but I have found Hamers to be the best. Great American pellets are a disgrace. What a lot of effort I have before me just to get through my the balance of my 3 tons before I go back to the 4 tons of Hamers that I had leftover from last year.
I have a Harman P43 Pellet Stove. I burned PA Pellets winter of 2010/11 had good heat & low ash.Bought 3 Tons of Great American sorriest thing I ever did! THEY SUCK! Heat was terrible Ash build up in burn pot. I never had to scrape as much with PA Pellets. Too much ash. I clean my stove every 2 wks. It was easy with PA but a hassle with GA. To be honest next season I’ll spend the couple extra bucks & buy Barefoot I hear they are the best.
