Greene Team Pellet Fuel Company, LLC was founded with the goal of producing clean, renewable energy and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The location of the production facility is in Greene County, Pennsylvania at the site of the old Robena Mine. The Robena Mine was built in the years of WWII, and was the largest, most modern coal mine of its time. In the wave of the renewable energy era, Greene Team has converted Robena from fossil fuel mining to renewable bio fuel production
Pellet quality is our number one goal at Greene Team. We receive fresh sawdust daily from local sawmills and process it into wood pellet fuel quickly. The sawdust never has had a chance to degrade prior to pelletization. This ensures the highest BTU value possible. Our state of the art facility allows us to produce the highest quality pellet fuel consistently. We have an in house lab and test finished product every ½ hour to maintain quality control. All pellets are screened 3 times prior to bagging to eliminate fines in the bag.

August 2019- Awaiting my bag and I must say, if there is one pellet brand to buy at Lowes or a big box, then these are them!!! Thank Robbie! great product
August – 2017 – Looking forward to burning some this year!! I always thought these were great pellets.
Sept – 2017 – Well I have had a few cold nights with these and as usual they are a great pellets. Robbie down there in PA keeps me updated on the shipments headed to Lowes and such for purchase. He mailed me out a bag this year and I loved burning them! A great hardwood pellet! I like how dense they are and the sound they make when hitting the hopper. Thanks Robbie! Also, these were the first pellets I ever bought for my first stove back 8 years or so now! Great then and great now.

Great product!
I purchased two pallets (100 bags) at Lowes and received the military discount of 10% (total cost $600). I paid the $65 delivery fee and have heated my 1800sq ft home for the entire season. So much easier than picking up the bags individually and the quality is the best I can find locally in southern Connecticut.

I buy the Green team platinum wood pellets ever season from Lowe’s they are a little pricey but there a great pellets I burn them in my Harmon insert are they burn great very low Ash and tons of heat my feed is set low at 1 1/2 and my stove is set at 68 degrees room temp the downstairs part of my house is about 1500 sq ft and I maintain at that temp 24/7 burning one bag every 24 hours with temps outside below freezing I have tried many pellets over the years and these are the best yet like I said there a little pricey far above every other pellets useless you buy from the true value/ ace hardware stores and like others stores that are just over price on most all there products so bottom line if you don’t mind paying high price for good pellets these are worth it.
Greene Team burns clean and hot, much better than the American Wood Fibre brand we were burning previously. You can’t go wrong with these!
These are the worst pellets ever. Do not be fooled by the picture, the pellets look nothing like that. We purchased 50 bags at Lowe’s, if we didn’t live 50 miles away from the nearest store we would take them back! Ours bags when opened were few pellets in a bag of sawdust! Heat input compared to other pellets is veryn poor. NOT recommended
Using In a Vogelzang model VG5790 new pellet stove.
I’ve tried this pellet and another purchased at Lowes. This one is better in regards to ash content and deposit build-up on the bottom of my burn pot. I conducted a test of the air exiting from the stove and also found this pellet to be hotter burning compared to others. I have 2 Harmon stoves, one free standing and the other is a larger fireplace insert, they burn everything well, they don’t clog or go out because of ash and are very dependable. I’ve had pellet stoves since the early 90’s and found the best pellet to be one called Heartland but very hard to get around the New England area and if you do find it you pay dearly. The Green Team cost $6.29 a bag a dollar more than others at Lowes but worth the extra for piece of mind. Stoves require maintenance and cleaning every 4 or 5 hours to move the ash especially on Harmons for better efficiency and distribution. I burn these pellets in cold weather the cheaper brand at 30 degrees, and all is well.
I have acquired an burned 8 bags so far this year in Oct-Nov 2017 from Lowes in Pembroke MA and I am finding they are burning faster than usual. That either means that my house requires more BTUs to heat this year or the pellets do not have as many BTUs. A bag did not even last 12 hours. Not sure I will buy these pellets this year.
We love the Greene Team Platinum pellets! We’ve used two other brands over the last 10 years and these are by far our favorites. They burn hot, have low fines and low ash. Our first year with them, we immediately noticed a difference, and in our year (last winter) the quality stayed consistent. We’ve awaiting delivery on this year’s pellets. Our stove is a 10 yr old St. Croix Preston XL (I think).
We get them from Lowes, but beware: not every Lowes will guarantee that the pellets you buy are the ones you’ll get!
Bought 1 ton from Lowe’s in early Jan. My cost was $349.00 per ton. A bit expensive I thought. I will never make another purchase. Glass is always black and constant soot. Not really sure what to buy at this point, seems like the quality is no longer there. Should I be surprised. I am using a Harmon Pellet Insert and never really encountered such a disaster.
To Whom this concerns;
I’ve been using pellets for the last 15+ years, and sad to say I didn’t get to use yours sooner. They burn cleaner leaving less ash and blackened window. And burn longer, produce higher Btu’s. I live just south of Lake Ontario, and the icy cold snowy winds from the North rips right thru you. Its nice to come in to a warm home using a truly superior pellet!!!
thank you.
Five bags in and we love these Greene Team Platinum Pellets. Very low ash, no unburned pellets in the burn pot, good heat. Not easy to get….one Lowes wanted to charge us premium pricing but wouldn’t guarantee they would deliver only these pellets. Another Lowes had only these in stock so we were able to get 3 tons, delivered. Pricey….$6.98 a bag, 5% discount off that per ton.
