We have a Harman dual core pellet boiler with a propane boiler backup. One core provides potable hot water and the other hot water for heating our house. We burn between 6 and 7 tons a year and use primarily Heatr’s from Home Depot. I have used multiple other brands but have found Heatr’s to be the most consistent although we have gotten bad pallets from Home Depot some years.
I have a pellet boiler for my in floor heating along with propane and a separate pellet stove for another room I go through 150 bags a year for 10 years mostly Heatrs from Home Depot this year is a DISASTER ash content changed on label and product fouled my stove and waste way up in the boiler. the must be aware and simply don’t care
I ordered 5 pallets of Heaters Pellets this year. I used Heaters from Home Depot last year and they were fine. This year (2020) they are the worst ever. The pellets are very dark, small tiny bits and lots of saw dust in each bag. They burn very dirty. I have had bags of these pellets that filled my burn pot with ash within a few hours. I have to dump the burn pot at least twice a day. Home Depot needs to stop selling these to their customers. These pellets are so bad I thought there was a problem with my pellet stove. I tried another brand and now I know Heaters pellets are the problem.
I bought 10 bags of heaters wood pellets @ dumond g true value and the pellets are soft they plugged up my oggar so bad I had to take the stove apart to get all the saw dust out to start over went and bought sum pellets from walmart and back to normal no problem pellet stove burn fine with any other pellets then heaters
My 8th year of burning pellet. It is close to the worst. On par with New England Hardwood Pellet. Lots lots of dust. Ironically I thought I was paying premium for a premium pellets, shame on me. Never ever again.
In the past I bought Heatr’s and I thought they were one of the better brands. NO MORE! The last bags were very dark in color, like chocolate, unlike my past purchases. The pellets were likely full of bark, and burned poorly, leaving unburned clumps in the burn hopper, and heavy ash. I am no longer confident in their quality control and will not purchase again.
Absolute worst wood pellets i have ever used. So much sawdust in every bag, plus the dirtiest burning. What ever you do, don’t waste your money on Hearts.
