Bought these pellets cause that’s all that was ledt in the store. I will never ever buy them again. They do not burn well at all have to frequently clean out burn pot cause they down burn to ash and leave large clumps. They burn too fast and not nearly as warm. I went through 1 bag in about 15hrs where as Lignetics 20-24 hrs depending on setting and definitely 24 hrs + on Tractor Supply premium hardwood. Glad I only got a few bags.
I’m not sure if I like these pellets this is my first experience with a pellet stove.i find I have to completely clean my stove every 15 bags my stove get’s completely full of ashes including my exsoust vent they seem to perduce a lot more ash then I was told I bought 140 bags in October 2019 I have whent through 63 bags since the beginning of January 2020 and iv cleaned my stove at least 10 times this doesn’t seem normal. My pellet stove a drolet eco 65.any ideas on why this is happening would be greatly appreciated thanks.at this point I would not recommend these pellets.
We bought several bags of these pellets from a local dealer who claimed they were a good quality product. After evaluating them, they seemed to be ok, nothing special, so based on our quick trial and the lumber yard’s recommendation, we went ahead and purchased four tons. After burning a little over a ton and a half of these pellets, I would have to say they are by far the worst product that we have purchased in our ten years of heating with pellets. The stove’s fire pot has to be cleaned out daily, since they burn so poorly that after two days the pot is completely filled with partially burned pellets, and is in danger overflowing live coals into the ash box. We’ll have to struggle through the rest of the winter with daily cleanings to use up the rest of our two plus ton order, but will never buy this brand of pellets again. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
These are dangerous pellets. We had a fire in our ash box today because these pellets do not burn properly. They clump up in the fire pot and never really burn enough to ash. We’ve had our pellets stove for 7 years and never had a problem. We bought 3 tons of these and can’t return them. So please don’t buy this brand.
These are the worse pellets we have ever bought. Sorry we bought 3 ton. They sit in the firepot and burn and then form a big glob of stuff that I have to vacum out every so many hours. Was not worth the extra money and no better heat then any other pellet. What a big mistake. Wish the company would take them back! I’ve never written a review before but I hope it will prevent others from buying this product. Oh yes, the smell is horrible, I have to burn candles now.
Well I have been using the Crabbe pellet for a long time however the last two seasons I have noticed a bigdifference in how they burn they clump really bad in my fire box so I thought maybe they were damp so I tried a different supplier same thing I used to love they way they burned but something has changed. I now have went back to eastern embers sorry Crabbe wish you could do something
Curt–I’m with you on the smell. My first impression was that they smelled like a weight-room gym. Or–if you want to really appreciate the smell–like vomit that had been on the floor for a day or two . . . They work fine. A little dusty compared to Energex, for example. But the smell is so bad, I may just give what’s left of my ton to someone in need who doesn’t mind the smell.
I purchased a ton of these to try out this winter (running in two Quadrafires).
The heat output is good, but my biggest complaint is the smell of the bags of pellets. They seriously smell like an unwashed butt. The odor takes over the room and doesn’t dissipate quickly. Really smelly… Very unpleasant. I’ve burned a lot of pellets, never had an experience like this before
Started burning these in my whitfield t300p Traditions. Very clean burning Hot. And no fines in the bags. Very little ash as well. For 199 a ton its a no brainer.
Have a Vogelzang 5190 and these pellets make a mess. More to clean out and do not produce a lot of heat compared to Eastern Embers. Glad I only purchased two bags from Home Hardware just to try them.
