Hotter, Drier and Cleaner than industry standards for “Premium” pellets
The Pellet Fuels Institute (PFI) set standards for all pellets, including “Premium.” Olympus pellets exceed these standards in several important ways:
Summary
These were fantastic pellets a few years back. I’m hoping to get a new bag for this 2018-19 heating season

Disappointed in these
I have used Lignetics for years but they were no longer available locally, so I bought Olympus. I am disappointed in these pellets. Although they do burn cleanly, with less ash, the heat output is a lot less than Lignetics. I find I need to run my stove 2 levels higher just to maintain the heat.

darn good pellets at a very reasonable price
Using a PelPro 130 stove for one year now and these pellets burn completely and hot with extremely little ash and absolutely no clinkers. Local Tractor Supply Store in Cheyenne Wy brought a load in and I’m going to get a couple more pallets.

Bad Pellets
Right now, in Feb 2019, Olympus has production problems with their pellets. We have had numerous bags that barely burn and leave big black chunks of some kind of melted plastic or something. The temps are half on the stoves, we have 3, and don’t light well. We are trying to find another supplier. We have used them for year.

2016 olynpus pellets really ate my steel in the pellet stove this year. Webt through one burn pot, now i see the steel slide tube is dateritaed. .
I have never had a problem with burnibg pellets. This 4 ton i have used 201/17 winter
Has cost me 4x more maint and money wigh repaceing burned out parts over 1 season
Olympus Pellet fuel is the best pellet fuel I have ever used in the 10 years of using pellet fuel. Compared to 2 year old Blazer pellets, my stove runs at 1 heat setting lower because these pellets burn hotter, ash is also slightly less. I have always thought Blazers were good pellets, but I believe the Olympus pellets are one notch better. They burn hotter, don’t crumple as easy, have less dust in the bag and less ash to clean up.
I put a long pellet in the hole of the fire box (fire rod side) and let it stick out about 1/16″ so the fire rod is close to the protruding pellet. I pile a small amount of pellets around the protruding pellet inside the fire box. I use this technique for all brand of pellets I use and my stove always starts fast and consistent. My stove is a Englander insert, 5 years trouble free service.
We are having trouble finding a dealer. Cottonwood Creek a heating does not carry them. We live in Buena Vista, Colorado 81211. We would be interested in at least two pallets
Using a Whitfield Advantage II stove, and I have to say that, so far, these are the hottest pellets I have ever tried. Low ash and plenty of heat. The price at Tractor Supply is $5.49/bag…..a little higher than I’m used to paying, but considering the additional heat, I’d say it’s worth it.
i use these pellets aswell and have been nothing but happy with them. burn pot staysvery clean vitually no clean ever and just fly ash to clean maybe once a month. I would recommend for anyone to try these pellets. I only use 3/4 of a bag a day in dead of winter with my Heatilator cab 50. these pellets seem to burn hot.
I am a new Lopi AGP pellet stove owner, but not new to pellet stoves.
The dealer AA Wood stoves near Tacoma, WA, recommended I use Olympus pellets and in fact gave us a 1/2 ton free with the stove to try them out.
After using a couple bags I could tell these were high quality pellets. The burn was consistent with stable heat output and ash levels were comparable to other brands of Douglas Fir if not a little less.
I have a daily habit to check and sweep the burn pot and weekly, monthly yearly scheduled cleaning. During my first week, I had no clinkers, just fine dust and some fly ash on flat surfaces. So far I am sold on these pellets.
