Summary
I remember that these pellets were amazing a few years back!!
These are by far the best pellets I have ever run through my stove. I have used Oakanagan, La Crete, LG’s and a couple others I can’t think of right now. I went three weeks before emptying the ash pan and it still wasn’t full. Harmon Accentra insert.
By far the best pellet. This is my 3rd year of burning Packsaddle pellets not only do they burn better and completely with no clinkers I have burned less which saves me money and I don’t have to transport them Par lumber delivers no charge. Best pellet I have found in 6 years of burning pellets.
I have a country stoves Winslow model PI40 (now owned by Lennox) that I have been running for about 8 years. I have used many brands of pellets with no problems but have noticed a difference in ash and fines build up from brand to brand. A close inspection of your photos of Saddle back pellets showes the problem that I have with these pellets. You’ll see pellets 1/2″, 1″ and even 1 1/2″. These longer pellets clog up my auger which results in low pellet flow that causes my “proof of fire” switch which shuts off my stove (yes I have replaced this switch). And what makes it worse. the configuration of my stove hopper will only allow me to use a 3/4″ PVC pipe to vacuum it out which of course clogs up almost immediately with the larger pellets. So I guess the next step is to remove and dismember my stove to clean out these pellets. One positive thing I noticed is that running the pellets through my shop vacuum fractures a lot of the larger pellets. I won’t be buying this brand again and I will insist on opening a sample bag before I buy a pallet of pellets.
I bought a pellet stove and installed it a month ago. Like most people they buy a product and have no knowledge of the quality of the product. I figured I would go to one of our feed stores and ask about the pellets they carry. The store clerk was so sure of his product that he loaded up 4 bags, didn’t charge me and told me I would be back. I said ” you are confident of this.” Since then i have bought the Packsaddel Pellets from him. This is the best quality pellet with a great BTU output.

Your Nearest PARR Lumber should be able to get these for you.
Where can I buy Packsaddle pellets in Washington State?
this is by far the best pellet that I have ran through my austroflam stove. Clean, hot and low ash. Glass does not soot up.
