UNUSEABLE
These pellets DO NOT WORK. they have so much dust/ash that even after sifting the dust out the pellets clog the stove. We had to return the entire ton! They’re awful!

Way better than saw dust
I live in Eastern Arizona in the mountains where it snows. Rocky Mountain pellets aren’t hard wood, but are much better than average pellets that are available in this area. Very satisfied.

I’ve been using RM Pellets for about 6 years. This year my supplier was out and I bought 3 bags of Black Hills Gold pellets. WOW! What a difference! Went back to buy more and they were out. Found ten bags of RM pellets at Ace Hardware, and they were CRAP. The pellets were all broken up and lots of dust already. Black Hills for me from now on…

Pretty bad
I agree with the previous reviewers… LOT’S of ash. Within just a few hours the burn pot is full of it. The best that can be said about these pellets is that the ash wipes of the glass easily. Heat output seems about average or maybe a little worse than average.

poor quality, bad pellets
i have been using rocky mountain pellets for 8 years, at first they were a great pellet. about 4 years ago Confluence Energy bought the original owners out, since then every year the quality gets worse, i use about 2 tons a year as i also have a wood stove, burning the same way we have increased pellet usage as the heat output has lessened. where we had to clean out the stove every 3 or 4 days we had to clean daily as the stove would fill with ash and the pellet pot would plug up with ash. we tried a different brand and was amazed at the difference in heat output and ash produced, i think they use a lot of bark in the pellets as them seem to be much darker than when i first started using them, the new pellet i am trying have no bark at all and noticeably higher heat output. after we use up the rest of these crappy pellets i will never buy rocky mountain wood pellets again. i also plan to notify the supplier of my issues.

Worst Pellets on the market
These Pellets are the worst we have ever used. We purchased two pallets, have gone through most of them and still have 3 months of winter left. The Clinkers as we call them have to be cleaned out several times a day and night to keep the stove working. Will never purchase these again.

Change of Quality???
I have been using your pellets for several years (about 200 bags per our 8 month heating season in NW Wyoming, and they have been great. However last season and this season, there seems to be a lot more sawdust which results in poor heating. I load up with 3 pallets in late spring so I am ready for the next winter. They are stored in my heated garage for about 6 months before I start using them again. This season I have noticed that I don’t get a solid clinker with holes built up in the bottom of the firepot, bur rather a build up of granular burned residue which plugs up the holes in the firepot and stops ignition on a new call for heat much more often than in previous years. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
