At Wood & Sons, our commitment to quality and community has deep roots. We are proud to work with local loggers and lumber companies to source the finest raw materials for our pellets, and the difference is noticeable! Wood & Sons pellets burn hotter and have far less ash content than our competitors, and when you buy a bag of our pellets your money is staying right here in
our community, where it can do the most good! We believe in our product and we think you will to. We even use it for heat in our own mill right in Sanford, Maine! Give us a try and let us know what you think! We know you’ll see our commitment to quality in every bag you burn.

Summary
August 2019 – Amaizing new plant up the road.
Tony who is the “maine” man up at the brand new Wood & Sons pellet mill in Stanford ME, called me up and invited me up to take a tour of this brand new state of the art mill. I’m super impressed with the first few weeks of pellets. They are burning super hot and almost no ash. Look out VT wood pellets! Once Tony get’s these dialed in they will be hitting the market and you will need to keep your eyes out for these 100% Eastern White Pine softwood pellets for sure.

Great pellet
2021-2022 season. These are my “go to” pellets. Clean burning, very good heat output and low dust. Decent price. Burn all week and no clogging in the firebox. Comparable to Vermont pellet but slightly less expensive. They burn a bit hotter than Le Crete so I use Le Crete during warmer temps. I burn in a Ravelli RV80

First time burning wood and sons they stick and tunnel. The hopper feels sticky like pine residue. After 3 tons I will not use them again. They burn fine with good heat and low ash but I had to keep hand moving them to middle of hopper.

Nice pellets
Burn clean with no clinkers. I’ve burned many different brands over 15 years. The better rated brands I’ve burned are, Cubex & LaCrete. Woods are better in my opinion. Only alitterore ash then Cubex. Just ordered 4 ton for next season.

Great pellets
Just went through my first ton of Wood and sons. The begin the wrapping of these pallets are top notch. Some of the best wrapped tons i have seen. Bags were strong. Love the clear bags to see what your using. Now onto the burn. These burn hot with very little ash. No one clinker. Pellets were a happy mix in size. No clogs in vac lines to boiler. No auger jams. I am very impressed with these pellets. I have been in the business for 10 years.

Not worth the price
They burn hot, and don’t have much ash, but they leave too much creosote on the glass. To me, it’s not worth the 25%+ price over a cheap pellet, for the 10% increase in heat, if it dirties up the glass faster. Granted, I have a large ash tray in my harman p43, so ash content doesn’t matter much to me. I know some people have an issue with them not sliding down the hopper, but I didn’t have that issue.
