The Upland&#8217;s natural draft and bottom feed system produces the most attractive fire view in the industry. The large glass-ceramic window in the polished, nickel plated door stays remarkably clean. The Upland cast-iron body efficiently radiates a comfortable heat without the need for noisy, air drying convection fans. A small, quiet computer type fan draws out the heat from the back of the stove. The top is large enough to hold a steamer, crock of cider, or even pot of soup. The cast-iron body is based on the Upland air-tight wood stove produced in the 1980&#8217;s. We purchased the old designs and brand name. The redesigned cast-iron body is designed to last a lifetime. The same philosophy is reflected in every component. Our hopper is built of the heavy gauge steel that most manufacturers reserve for their fireboxes. The only down sides are that this stove is more expensive to manufacture and it weighs over<\/li>\n<li>400 lbs.<\/li>\n<li>Efficiency &#8211; The UP207P has an average efficiency of approximately 83% using the test methods for biomass heaters. A certificate is provided with the purchase.<\/li>\n<li>At low heat, the Upland burns about one pound of pellets per hour. On high heat the unit burns approximately four pounds per hour. With premium pellets this stove will yield over 30,000 BTU&#8217;s. Most owners using the Upland 207 Pellet Stove as a supplemental space heater run the stove at the medium setting. It may be connected to a thermostat to hold a constant room temperature. Depending on the quality of the fuel, the Upland will run for two to four weeks before cleaning.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility &#8211; Bottom feed pellet stoves are able to tolerate lessor quality, high ash pellets, as is the Upland 207 Pellet Stove. While designed as a pellet stove, the Upland will also burn a corn &#8211; pellet mix consisting of up to 80% corn.<\/li>\n<li>Low Operating Costs &#8211; The Upland 207 Pellet Stove was designed specifically for consumers that want to install and maintain their unit. Primary goals are to make our stove reliable and maintenance free. If you can change or install a light fixture, you have to know-how and probably tools to do all of the maintenance and trouble shooting that may ever be needed &#8211; eliminating costly service calls. The Upland draws less wattage than a typical table lamp.<\/li>\n<li>Ease of Maintenance &#8211; The stove&#8217;s controller has built in trouble shooting circuitry to help diagnose any problems. The stove has thermal safety sensors that are rated at over 10,000 cycles and have gold plated contacts to ensure proper function on closure. Rare problems are generally the result of a disconnected wire. To further minimize this all connections are heavy duty crimp screws or soldered. Each stove runs though a full systems check before leaving the factory.<\/li>\n<li>Power outage &#8211; Included with your stove is an AC\/DC Power Converter that will enable you to run the Upland for about 12 hours on a typical, fully charged car, boat or RV battery.<\/li>\n<li>Safe Operation &#8211; The clean burning Upland 207 Pellet Stove is exempt from EPA standards. It has been tested to UL 1482 and ASTM E-1059.<\/li>\n<li>Ease of Installation &#8211; The ideal installation is the replacement for a wood or coal stove. The 4 in. pellet vent pipe is simply adapted to a 6&#8243; or 8&#8243; chimney or chimney liner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Outside air that is mandated by virtually all other pellet stoves is available but not required. (Patents Pending) One does not need to cut a 2&#8243; or 3&#8243; diameter hole in the floor and outside wall for the combustion air tubing.<\/p>\n<p>This makes the Upland 207 Pellet Stove &#8220;plug and play&#8221; when replacing an old wood or coal stove. Place the Upland where you old stove sat, connect the pellet vent to your existing chimney, plug it in and you are ready to go!<\/p>\n<p>The downside to some, it requires a chimney. The chimney should clear the roof and meet standard wood stove standards except for the allowed use of 4 in. pellet vent pipe. Pellet vent is considerably less expensive than an all fuel chimney as required for a wood or coal stove.<\/p>\n<p>This type of installation eliminates many of the potential problems found in the installations that only vent out a side wall.
