First Delivery of the Year: Wood & Sons Pellets by NAF Fuels

First Delivery of the Year: Wood & Sons Pellets are HERE (thanks to North Atlantic Fuels)

Nothing like that first pallet drop to kick off pellet season right.

Big shoutout to the crew at North Atlantic Fuels (Epping, NH). They just delivered my first load of the year and—chef’s kiss—it’s
Wood & Sons Premium Softwood Pellets.
These are made locally in Sanford, Maine and they’ve got that perfect mix of hot burn and low ash that keeps your stove humming without the constant clean-outs.

Why Wood & Sons? (Short version: they’re awesome.)

  • Hot burn: listed around ~8,700 BTU/lb (net) for solid heat output.
  • Low ash: about ~0.25%, which means less stove fussing and more steady heat.
  • Clean feedstock: 100% Eastern White Pine—consistent, clean, and reliable.
  • Local mill pride: small team doing big-quality work up in Sanford—love to support that.

If you want my full take (nerdy details and real-world burn notes), here’s my review:

NAF Delivery: Easy, courteous, and right where you want it

The NAF team makes delivery stupid-simple. They roll up with a flatbed + truck-mounted forklift, stage on the road, and then
place the pallet exactly where you need it—driveway, near the shed, or yes, right into the garage when accessible.
Smooth, careful, professional… and friendly humans (which I appreciate).

They cover the NH Seacoast and beyond, plus parts of Southern Maine and Massachusetts, so if you’re in that zone, you’re in luck.

What I ordered (and what you can expect)

One ton = 50 bags at 40 lbs each, stacked on a pallet. You get a heads-up before delivery and day-of notifications, so you’re not guessing.
That kind of communication matters when you’re juggling work, kids, and “is the garage actually clear right now?” life stuff.

Good people, good pellets

I’ve dealt with a lot of suppliers over the years, and North Atlantic Fuels is the kind of outfit you stick with:
responsive, knowledgeable, and they stock brands they actually believe in (not the junky stuff). If you’ve got questions, they’ll talk you through it—
even let you try a bag when you’re feeling out a new brand.

Ready to stock up?

If you’re in their delivery area and want that “set it down right where I need it” experience, check out NAF’s pellet page and get on the schedule.
Then come back and tell me how the Wood & Sons burned for you this season—I’m always collecting real-world burn reports.

PS: If you’re new here, WoodPelletReviews.com is just a guy (hi) who’s been burned by crappy pellets before and now chases the good stuff
so you don’t have to. I test, I tinker, I share. Enjoy the heat.
