Review of Maine Woods Softwood Pellet
2017 – I hear these are awesome pellets so I’m really excited to burn a few bags. I just received about 4 bags!

Too Much dust but good heat and low ash
Too Much dust. Throwing away a softball size amount of dust and pellets and still clogging the auger. While it produces good heat and low ash, I am cleaning my stove augur every 3 weeks from the dust build up. I can do a whole ton of Hamers or LaCrete without having to vacuum the auger. I try one new brand a year. This one teaches me to stay away from Maine Woods due to the dusts and fines. I see from the other reviews I am not alone in the dust field.

Nope, I don't like them.
I am very disappointed with these pellets. They don’t look or burn like softwood pellets, much dirtier. In fact I would go so far as to question if the might be a lower quality hardwood pellet in the wrong bags. I’ve burned nice softwood pellets for years now, Vermont’s for the last few and there is no comparison. I bought 1 ton of these because the trip to get them was much closer than the trip up to the mill in Vermont. Lesson learned.

The price is great, they burn really hot and product low ash, however, there is way too much dust per bag.
I am on my 12th bag of maine woods pellets. At this time i am amazed at how much dust i find in each bag.
I have cleaned my stove 4 times due to the heavy saw dust blocking the photo eye. It burns great in between cleanings. I just bought 12 more bags only because these are the only brand available at my local dealer. Perhaps the bags were mishandled? The product is good excepting the amount of dust.
I burned 2 ton of the Maine Woods softwood this winter will end up at about 2 1/2 ton burned, I had very good luck, good heat low ash I tried 3 bags of a canadian softwood not enough difference to change they are about 65 dollars more a ton,I have a Qudra Fire Mt Vernon, will be burning Maine Woods soft agin this year if I can get them I am heating a 1600 square ft home 100% with pellets love the heat,
One word caution for the price ill buy a better pellet the extra money will be worth it lots of fines ! Burning from bag to bag very different ! Glass dirty all the time not a good smell burning or just sitting in the cellar ! You’d think with all the trees in Maine they could come up with a better product !
