Canawick Wood Pellets

Hardwood / Softwood Blend – Eco-Friendly Premium Fuel

Canawick Wood Pellets are made from 100% biodegradable sawdust—no additives, no chemicals—and use a blend of premium hardwood and softwood. They’re engineered for efficient home heating with low moisture, low fines and strong heat output.

Typical specs: Bag size 40-lb; composition hardwood/softwood; moisture content around 5.2%; ash around 0.6%; calorific value around 8,000 BTU per pound. These pellets are designed for reliable burn and minimal stove maintenance.

Availability: Manufactured in New Brunswick, Canada and distributed in the northeastern U.S. via select dealers and heating fuel supply companies. For best results, check that you’re getting a current season bag, in good storage condition, and that your local supplier has fresh stock.

Status note: The Canawick brand remains active and recognized for its ecological approach and hardwood/softwood blend. That said, some user feedback reports variation in batch quality—so testing a few bags early in the season is recommended.

Bottom line: If you’re looking for a pellet fuel that blends eco-friendly manufacturing with solid performance and a hardwood/softwood mix, Canawick Wood Pellets are a strong contender—just make sure you’re purchasing fresh, well-stored inventory for best results.

      1. I ran out of pellets that I usually purchase from a major building supply outlet. I decided to give these a try, and couldnt be more satisfied. I can operate my stove on a lower heat setting, yet getting more heat than my old pellets. I haven’t had a hard ‘ash brick’ in my burnpot when it’s time to clean it either. Great product so far!

      2. I have a wise way stove these pellets start off great but clump up causing a great deal of heat loss…As I say clump in small clumps causing no draft,,,,

      3. I used canwick pellets last year and was very happy with the quality and the heat they produced. This year I purchased 100 bags and have found the pellets give off very poor heat and lots of ash. I will not be purchasing anymore of your pellets

      4. They are OK. I find they give off pretty good heat once going, BUT I have to crank the dial on my pellet stove 25%-30% HIGHER in order to get that heat. I also find it VERY dusty when dumping the bag into the hopper. All that crap just collects at the bottom of the hopper and that’s what will clog your auger. My last bag I used I probably had at least 1 CUP of dust that I had to vacuum out. 3 out of 5 stars.
