Eagle Valley Wood Pellets
100% Softwood – Premium Canadian Fuel
Eagle Valley Wood Pellets are made in British Columbia, Canada, from softwood species such as pine, fir and spruce, and are compressed into 6 mm pellets with very low moisture. These are marketed as a high-performance option for stoves tuned for softwood fuel and those seeking reliable heat output.
Typical performance: Moisture content around 5–6%, energy value around 8,300 BTU per pound, and ash levels under 0.5% in solid batches. The tight density and softwood feedstock help create a steady burn, less ash and fewer maintenance issues compared to value blends.
Availability: These pellets have been distributed in the northeastern U.S. and neighboring Canadian provinces through fuel-supply dealers and pallet delivery services. Because of the premium softwood nature, check that you’re getting a recent production run and fresh stock before making a bulk purchase.
Status note: Eagle Valley is still referenced among pellet-stove users as a clean-burn softwood brand. Some users have pointed out batch variation in recent seasons, so verifying bag date and condition is wise before buying large quantities.
Bottom line: If your pellet stove runs best on softwood and you’re looking for a clean, hot-burning Canadian pellet, Eagle Valley Wood Pellets are a strong contender—just make sure you’re sourcing a fresh shipment from a trusted local supplier.

Major Disappointment
The quality of Eagle Valley Pellets has gone downhill! They are garbage! The klinkers are ridiculous, we have to clean the stove out every day or every other day! The pellets are visibly dark and dirty looking compared to other brands. These are made in my hometown and what a disappointment the quality has become. Eagle Valley pellets are probably cheaper than other brands but they aren’t even worth that. Seems to me the company is more interested in selling pet bedding pellets overseas than putting out a good quality wood burning pellet. That’s pretty sad for those of us who want to support our local business and we get stuck with a poor quality product in return.

Eagle Valley sells junk sand-filled pellets
These are the worst pellets we have ever purchased. So stove clogging you can’t get through a bag of them without cleaning the entire stove and sweeping the chimney. How do this dirt-filled junk get rated “Premium”? These are not even fit for animal bedding – dark with dirt, all ash and clinkers and little heat. Fire smothers itself after a day and the stove must be cleaned out entirely.
