I was encouraged last night to find a new comment on my own website blog (go and have a look if you haven’t already – it’s at http://thefreelancewriter.me.uk), attached to the only wood pellet related post I’ve ever actually made there. I normally reserve my eco-ranting and raving for my contributions over here.
The comment was from a British distributor of wood pelletizing machines. Initially I was surprised at this, wood pellet fuel still being relatively novel in the UK, until I remembered that low-grade pellets have for a while been used here as an alternative to stabling straw and cat litter.
I don’t think pellet manufacture is something I’m going to get into myself. Supply of suitable wood is already an issue in the UK and while I live in the middle of a commercially planted forest, I don’t own any of it.
Still, I’d be interested to hear from anyone here in Britain or Stateside who does make their own wood pellet fuel. Comment away!
