Timber Heat Wood Pellets

100% Softwood – Ultra Premium Fuel

Timber Heat Wood Pellets are manufactured from pure softwood sawdust—typically Douglas fir—processed under tight quality control to deliver a clean burn, strong heat output and very low ash. This makes them an excellent choice for pellet stoves optimized for softwood performance.

Typical specs: These pellets are bagged in 40-lb units, feature a heating value around 8,350 BTUs per pound and ash content under 0.25% in selected production runs. The uniform pellet size, minimal fines and low moisture contribute to stable burning and less frequent maintenance.

Availability: While originally produced in the Pacific Northwest, Timber Heat is distributed through select dealers across the U.S. in regions that support premium softwood fuels. Because supply is specialized, check with your dealer for current-season bag date and verify storage conditions before buying large quantities.

Status note: The brand remains recognized as a premium softwood pellet option, though due to its niche positioning batch variation and regional availability can be more pronounced than mainstream brands—it’s wise to test a bag early in the season.

Bottom line: If your pellet stove is tuned for softwood fuel and you’re seeking one of the cleaner, hotter options available with minimal ash and strong burn performance, Timber Heat Wood Pellets are a standout choice—just ensure you’re sourcing fresh stock from your local supplier.

Summary

The picture & review is provided by Ken from NY… Thank you buddy!

These pellets are $5.19/bag at Lowes in southern NY. I know other ratings weren’t so good, buy they seem to have gotten better. Ash was low, heat was moderate, but they seemed to burn rather quickly. Bags were nice and dry. 4 star I would say

  1. Timber Heat wood pellets made by bio maxx inc. are the worst pellets I have ever used in my wood pellet stove. The amount of fines (saw dust) is excessive. It is like they are adding it just to make the weight of the bag. The average length of the pellet as 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch at the most. I bought 1 ton of these pellets and each bag contained at least 1/4 to a 1/2 pound of fines (saw dust ) I have never experience such a horrible product in the 20 years of having my pellet stove. I would never recommend this product or purchase it ever again. Each bag had to be sifted before I could use it.

  2. Timber Heat are awesome!! We have a Harman P43 they burn great in it. House is cozy warm. Does anyone know where else we can buy these besides Lowes they are out of stock and we have never seen them there before last week. Thanks in advance.

  3. Timber heat wood pellets are not good at all.
Very ashy and not clean burning ,not much heat from them either. I have 2 stoves a quadrafire and a kozi.

  4. This is the first ton of these pellets I am burning in my Harman P43 stove. compared to the Green Supreme pellets I have been burning, They seem to have more ash and build up in the burn pot more quickly. The heat output may be a little lower than the Green Supreme pellets I burned previously. The pellets seem shorter and less uniform by comparison. I usually keep an oven thermometer on the top of the stove combustion chamber and it is reading between 30-50 degrees lower than the Green Supreme pellets did. The bags are also thinner plastic than the Green Supreme bags and easier to puncture. The bags do not provide any Technical Specs on the pellets. I hope Lowes runs out of these quickly and gets better quality pellets in the future.

  5. I Have a Harman Accentra pellet stove was burning green surpreme but the timber heat pellets r much better burn hotter very happy with them
