Wood & Sons Premium Softwood Wood Pellets
100% Eastern White Pine – Super Premium Softwood Fuel
Wood & Sons Pellets are made in Sanford, Maine, using clean sawmill by-products from local Eastern White Pine operations. The manufacturing facility was built with high efficiency in mind, and the brand emphasizes sustainability and consistent quality.
Typical specs: around 8,700 BTUs per pound and ash content as low as about 0.25%. These pellets meet what the company calls “Super Premium” criteria: very low fines (<0.5%), low moisture, and strict durability standards.
Availability: Primarily in the Northeastern U.S., especially Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts via dealer/pallet delivery. If you’re outside that region, check with your local dealer as distribution may be limited.
Bottom line: If you’re looking for a high-end softwood pellet that burns hot, clean and supports a locally made product, Wood & Sons is a strong choice — just confirm availability in your area this season.

August 2019 – Amaizing new plant up the road.
Tony who is the “maine” man up at the brand new Wood & Sons pellet mill in Stanford ME, called me up and invited me up to take a tour of this brand new state of the art mill. I’m super impressed with the first few weeks of pellets. They are burning super hot and almost no ash. Look out VT wood pellets! Once Tony get’s these dialed in they will be hitting the market and you will need to keep your eyes out for these 100% Eastern White Pine softwood pellets for sure.
Wood & Sons Wood Pellets are super-premium softwood heating pellets made from 100% Eastern White Pine sawdust sourced from Maine sawmills. These pellets are engineered for very high heat output (around ~8,700 BTU per pound) and ultra-low ash (often as low as ~0.25%), with strong pellet durability and low moisture content for clean, efficient combustion in residential pellet stoves and boilers. Local users report consistent performance and excellent heat, though availability is typically regional (Northeast U.S.).

Used Woods pellets last year 2023 3 months, no issues very pleased. Bought a years supply for 2023-2024 nothing but problems loaded with sawdust stick in hopper fire goes out. Filed complaint 12/1/2023 got 1 ton replaced end of January with hardwood different make. They said it was an isolated issue which I believed. Now know it was and is a common problem.

Wood and Sons
I have a new Harman Acentra 52. These are ok pellets. I never had a feeding or a jamming issue with my stove and these pellets. It’s just that they do not burn very hot. I have had to turn my feed rate up higher than usual. I would buy them again if I couldn’t find a hotter pellet. Medium amount of ash.
