Ambiance Wood Pellets by Valfei

Ambiance Wood Pellets (Valfei)

100% Hardwood – Super Premium Fuel

Ambiance Wood Pellets by Valfei are made from 100% hardwood sawdust—no bark, no softwood species, and no recycled mixed materials. The raw material comes from hardwood flooring and cabinet manufacturing residuals, then screened and bagged under strict quality controls to deliver long burn time and low ash. Typical specs for recent production runs list ash content around ~0.40% and moisture around ~4.8%.

Availability: These pellets are manufactured in Quebec, Canada, and distributed in the U.S. Northeast and Canada. They may be stocked through specialty dealers, stove shops and regional fuel suppliers rather than every big-box store, so availability can vary. Always check the bag date and storage conditions before purchasing in bulk.

Status note: While Ambiance remains listed as a premium hardwood pellet line, recent user feedback indicates batch variation—so it’s wise to test a few bags early in the season and ensure you’re sourcing a fresh production run and proper storage.

Bottom line: If your pellet stove is tuned for hardwood fuel and you’re looking for one of the cleaner, higher-end options on the market—Ambiance Wood Pellets by Valfei are a standout choice—just confirm fresh stock and availability in your region before buying large quantities.

      1. Smoker?

Can i use them for my Pitboss smoker. I know they are not food grade but if they are 100 hardwood with no binder or chemicals additive, i don’t see any risk.

      2. Ash is on the high side

This years Ambiance batch seems to be a little high on the ash, but overall not a bad pellet for the price.

Used about 20 Bags and had large Creosote Build up in Harman pellet stove. Would not use again. Also very dirty glass was black on stove. High ash.

      4. Too dirty for the extra heat

        (4)

I’ve used these pellets for one season both in my house and cottage and although they put off more heat than the previous brand I was using they produce more ash and dirty up the window faster. This year I will go back to my previous brand of softwood pellets that create a lot less maintenance throughout the year.
