My husband and I have had a pellet stove for many years now and have used Fiber Energy Products pellets during most of that time. We had never had any problems with the pellets from this company until a few months ago in November (2017). We have purchased 25 bags of pellets that we have had to strain the dust from so it doesn’t stop up or make large amounts of build up (clinkers) in the burn pot, hopefully you can help to solve this problem.
I have an englander stove and bought these pellets at the end of last season. I burned the remainder of them during this large snow storm and they were covered with a bag all summer. I got 30 hours of burn time per bag, very little dust and very light ash, they burned better than any I have ever tried. I love them and would buy them again, if I could find them around West Virginia.
I would like to thank fiber energy products Arkansas plant for the three ton of replacement for my folks in Missouri It’s refreshing knowing a company that takes care of their customers
Back about September/ October this year we did a pre-buy of 3 tons of the “Ultra Premium” from Meeks Lumber Mexico Missouri, I asked them not to send me last years left overs. between the 3 tons there were lots of holes, bags not sealed. most of the pellets were small broken up and lots of dust at the bottom. into second ton found 6 or so bags where you could grab a hand full and the pellets would crumble to dust in your hand. we found the “Premium” pellets at Orscheln Farm and Home in Mexico Missouri, so we picked up 4 bags to try and see if the were better then the “Ultra” pellets. to our surprise the pellets were longer, very little dust better heat. we thought we found our pellets, that was till today. I went back to the same Orscheln to buy 25 bags only to fine out they had 10 pallets of the Premium sitting out in the parking lot uncovered and wet, bags torn. I explained to 3 different employee that you can not leave these outside uncovered. So in the end I’m happy with the Premium pellets. But Fiber Energy Products need to educate their customers about proper storage of wood pellets. and do not sell last years pellets that have been sitting around for a year. P.S. so far at least 6 bags of the 25 will be going back to Orscheln. I have found hard clumps in the corner which tells me the pellets were wet. the Pallets are wrapped in black plastic sitting on an asphalt parking lot in the sun, rain. condensation alone in a problem.
It’s going to be a long winter dealing with these pellets. The stove requires a complete cleaning every week. So much ash the house is constantly dusty. Augers plug up. Pellets won’t feed. FIBER ENERGY….YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THIS PRODUCT.
