Freedom Fuel Wood Pellets
Premium Grade Fuel – Hardwood/Softwood Blend
Freedom Fuel Wood Pellets are produced in the USA using clean sawdust and wood residuals, engineered for high performance: with ash content under 0.5 % and moisture under 6 % they qualify as a super premium fuel. The manufacturer lists a BTU value of over 8,400 BTUs per pound.
These pellets are bagged (typically 40-lb bags) and sold through major retailers and regional dealers. They’re designed for residential pellet stoves where homeowners want strong heat output and minimal maintenance.
Availability: Freedom Fuel is distributed across multiple states in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, and may appear in big box stores or local fuel dealers. Because performance and supply can vary, check the bag date, storage condition, and production run before buying in bulk.
Status note: This brand continues to be available and marketed as a premium product. Some users report excellent performance, others note batch variation—so testing a few bags early is wise.
Bottom line: If you’re seeking a top-tier pellet fuel with strong heat and low ash, Freedom Fuel is a compelling choice—just verify that you have fresh stock and that your stove handles the blend well.

Nov: 2017 – These pellets absolutely did burn super hot. They seemed to be super dense with not much fines. I want to say that these are a southern yellow pine pellet. I could not find much info on online except to find out what the deal is. I had to clear out the burnpot in the morning but the heat was was nice! great pellet overall .

I am extremely disappointed!!I need a number for a supervisor I recently bought 15 bags and need to be reimbursed!!!
I only purchased these pellets because I was desperate, and I have spent the last two days trying to clean out the pellet stove. The bags of pellets are more dust and clumps than pellets. I tried to call customer service, but no response
Took 25 bags back to tractor supply. These are softwood pine pellets and burn a lot dirtier than hardwood pellets. Sent several emails to company with no response The lady at tractor supply said a lot of customers was returning these.
Bought Freedom Fuel Pellets from Tractor Supply and they smell like OSB wood. Very strong formaldehyde smell to them. Has anyone else noticed this about them? My stove is a Rika Integra II insert. I always have used Turman Hardwood pellets and never smelled this chemical smell.
Bought 2 tons of Freedom Fuel “premium grade” pellets from our local Tractor Supply. Was hesitant as we never used this brand before but decided to try it. Ash is probably double than our normal brand, but even worse VERY LARGE clumps of pellets that are swelled up and or disintegrating, like a chunk of concrete in SEVERAL bags! We didn’t notice until we unloaded them in our covered storage building, so took 12-15 bags back to the store immediately, and still finding these large clumps in several more bags! The clumps are extremely large anywhere from the size of a golf ball up to chunks larger than a foot and half long! Since we live 20+ miles away, not able to take each bag back every time we find one which is several times a week. today 2 large chunks in 2 different bags (2 for 2). Won’t be buying these again. Stick with what you know to be good, mark this brand off your list.
