Hamer’s Hot Ones Wood Pellets
100% Hardwood – Premium Appalachian Oak Fuel – and one of my favorite pellets
Hamer’s Hot Ones Wood Pellets are made from clean hardwood sawdust sourced exclusively from Appalachian oak. They’re manufactured with tight quality control to deliver high heat output and very low ash levels.
Typical specs: approximately 8,500 BTUs per pound and around 0.49% ash for recent runs. These are bagged in 40-lb units and aimed at homeowners who prioritize premium performance and clean operation.
Availability: Distributed through regional dealers in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast U.S., the brand may be stocked through specialty pellet suppliers rather than every big-box retailer. Because of its premium nature, checking bag date and batch freshness is recommended.
Status note: Hamer’s Hot Ones remains in production and is recognized in the pellet industry as a higher-end hardwood fuel. That said, because premium hardwood stocks can be more limited and price higher, availability may vary season to season.
Bottom line: If you’re running a pellet stove tuned for hardwood and you’re after strong heat with minimal ash, Hamer’s Hot Ones Wood Pellets are one of the top choices—just make sure you’re getting fresh stock and your dealer can confirm batch date.

I’ve burned a lot of pellets over the years, and Hamer’s Hot Ones are the kind you always come back to. These pellets are dense, dry, and consistently hot, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to heat a house instead of babysit a stove. From the first bag to the last, they just flat-out perform.
What really stands out is how clean they burn. The ash is fine and light, not chunky or clumpy, and it doesn’t gum up the burn pot or heat exchanger. That means longer burn times, less scraping, and fewer shutdowns to clean — which anyone who runs a pellet stove daily knows is a big deal. They also light easily and don’t produce that weird sour or chemical smell some pellets do. These just smell like clean hardwood.
Heat output is another strong point. Hot Ones live up to their name — they throw serious heat without needing to crank the feed rate. My stove runs more efficiently on these than on a lot of other so-called “premium” pellets, which usually translates into lower pellet usage and steadier room temps.
Bottom line: Hamer’s Hot Ones are the kind of pellets you buy by the ton and don’t regret it. They’re consistent, clean-burning, and powerful — exactly what you want in a real heating pellet, not just something that looks good on the bag.
