Matra Softwood Pellets
100% Eastern White Pine – Super Premium Softwood Fuel
These Matra Softwood Pellets are made from nothing but kiln-dried Eastern White Pine, with no bark, no additives and strict sourcing from a specialty mill. The result is a pellet that burns hot, clean and with minimal ash.
Typical specs: around 8,900 BTUs per pound and ash content around 0.26% or lower — classed as “super premium.” Available via distributors in the Northeastern U.S. (including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island) and by pallet or bag delivery depending on region.
Note on availability: Production is limited because the pellet mill uses sawdust from their primary door/window manufacturing operations — so stock can be tight. If you’re considering them, early ordering is wise.
Bottom line: If your pellet stove handles softwood really well and you’re looking for a low-ash, high-BTU pellet, Matra is an excellent contender — just verify current season stock and bag date before buying.

I do not have any info on these wood pellets yet but they look like they are from Canada for sure.

Junk- Junk- & Junk. DO NOT BUY!!
These pellets use to be great now they have lots of sawdust in the bags , and it clogs up my auger , thank god the supplier I got them from let me return them almost a ton and I got Hamers instead no issues with the Hamers Hot Ones this will be my go to pellet now , my supplier said that after I called him with my issue he had several other calls from other customers and they are all having the same issue with lots of sawdust and clogging augers even if matra was to fix the issue I will never used matra pellets again even if they were given to me for free, not worth the hassle

Worst pellet in 20 years
We burned Matra for the first time in a Harman insert. We also tested them in our free standing Englander. The amount of fines and dust are the worst I have ever seen of any pellet in 20 years. Each bag has almost a cup! The heat output is nowhere near what they claim and considerably less than any hardwood we’ve ever burned. Ash content is about average but they run fairly dirty as the glass gets covered in soot. These have been the absolute worst pellet I’ve experienced and the biggest waste of money. You have been warned.

AWESOME PELLET
Burns very hot and very little ash .my glass on my Harmon stays clean , sometimes there is a little sawdust in the bags if you see it when putting in your hopper just mixed around , my Harmon p43 burns it all up , I tried other pellets and these are second best to northern warmth supreme Douglas fir , but the NW by me are $575- a ton the Matra are cheaper and are definitely worth it , no matter what you have to clean your stove every week and I already burned 20 bags and my ash pan does not even have 1/4 inch of ash in it . I highly recommend these pellets to anyone ..I am using a Harmon p43 and my house is 2400 sq ft ,also where I have the stove my ceilings are 14 foot high and I put the ceiling fan on counterclockwise and the heat blows throughout the entire house that at times my bedroom, which is on the opposite side of the house gets to 86 degrees and my wife bitches 🙂 i have to leave a window open a small crack in my living room where the pellet stove is .and on my Harmon I leave the feed rate at #4 (Harmon recommended) and my heat set at 70 if it is extremely cold than I put it to 72
