Heartland Wood Pellets

Heartland Wood Pellets are made from pure softwood sawdust, processed to meet high standards for heat output and clean burning. These pellets are designed for homeowners who want strong performance and reduced cleanup.

Typical specs: Many users report high heat with BTU readings around 8,500+ BTUs per pound and ash content under ~0.35%. They’re bagged in 40-lb units and marketed as a premium softwood fuel.

Availability: The brand has been available through dealers in regions across the U.S., including the Midwest and West. Because premium softwood supplies can fluctuate, check your local dealer for current season stock and bag date.

Status note: While Heartland remains listed in fuel-dealer inventories, recent user comments suggest some regional availability challenges. Test a bag early before buying in bulk.

Bottom line: If you’re running a pellet stove that handles softwood fuel and you’re looking for one of the cleaner, higher-performing options, Heartland Wood Pellets are worth serious consideration—just ensure you’re getting a fresh batch and verify your local supply.

If spilled onto the earth is it harmful to wildlife?

    Hello,

I live in Alliance, Nebraska. I used to be able to get Heartland Wood Pellets through Bomgaars here. Now they seem to not carry them anymore.

I was writing to inquire if I can get them directly through your company?

    Thank you in advance,
    Maridon Matula

We burned Hearland pellets all last winter and loved them. Very few plug ups all winter, mostly caused by long pellets. This year we have a plug up shut down at least once a day. We also have had trouble with the saw dust smothering out the flame. Lots of wood chips and flakes in the bags also.

    Liked

    Sturdy bags, good heat

    Disliked

Too much trash and bad pellets causing plug ups in auger

Been using these pellets for years no problem but this year the pellets are terrible chunks of wood extra long pellets and alot of fines are plugging the auger at least every other bag sometimes every bag

Seems pricey to me but hard to know these days. Boomgaars just stopped selling them so time to get their business back. 👍

Quality has definitely taken a dive. Lots of ash, pellets are long and don't feed well, lots of pellet dust in the bags, big clinkers, and burn dirty. It's really sad and frustrating to see a good product go down hill so bad.

Used to be the best on the market hands down. This year it's like quality went out the window. Smells horrible like chemicals Burns black I have to clean my pellet stove every couple burns to ignite. Very disappointed the standards have gone down.

Best pellets I have found, but quality is going down. More wood dust and longer pellets. Our quadrafire is constantly getting jammed. Price has gone up while quality went down, a bit frustrating.

Past years have yielded me the best pellets on the market.

I have used 40-60 bags of Hearland Pellets a year for years. My last two pallets have not been as high a quality. More ash. More sparking. Less effective burning. My pellet stove is top of the line and I heat my entire house with it; however, my last two pallets have continually clogged my feeder. I cannot fill the stove to run all night or it will jam. May have to look for another product.

I h add be used your pellets for 4 years. This year the pellets do not slide down the hopper walls. A funnel shape is created and the stove goes out after about 3 hours. It does not heat at night. I’ve tried sanding the hopper the putting wax on to polish it. This has not worked. What caused this to suddenly start hanging to the hopper side rather than sliding down? Like I said this is the first time in 5 years. In the past as the hopper gets emptied the is less than a cup of pellet still remaining mostly at the corner seams.

I have tried other pellet brands but nothing is as satisfying as Heartland’s wood Pellets.

I just started using a pellet stove on 15 November 2022 and have been totally impressed with the Heartland brand. Low ash content, uniformity of pellets and a reasonable price from my local lumber yard in Sheridan Wyoming. I have not had a single problem with burning them in my Comfortbilt HP22 stove, no feed problems at all. A neighbor who bought the same stove I have has had nothing but problems from the pellets he purchased . This week he purchased 4800lbs of Heartland pellets, excellent product and highly recommended, packaging is also top notch!
