Golden Fire Wood Pellets
Premium softwood fuel – 100% Douglas Fir
Golden Fire Wood Pellets are made entirely from Douglas Fir, with no binders, no plastics, and no additives. They’re produced using ultra-low moisture feedstock, which means more of the energy goes into heating your space rather than evaporating water.
Typical specs: approximately 8,500–8,700 BTUs per pound and ash content under 0.25% (fines less than 0.5%). They’re certified PFI premium grade and designed to give you hot, efficient performance with minimal clean-up.
In the U.S., you’ll find Golden Fire available through retailers like Lowe’s and regional lumber/home-supply stores. While the brand originates on the West Coast (Oregon), many suppliers stock it nationwide, so it’s accessible in states across the continental U.S.
In short: if your pellet stove handles softwood pellets well and you’re looking for high BTU output and low ash from a clean-burning fuel, Golden Fire is a strong contender.

Did the formula change? Pellets in the new clear bags have clogged the auger
Having issues with latest batch sold in the clear bags. The pellets sold in the clear bags have been clogging up our pellet stove. The pellets are stiffer and do not break as easily as the pellets sold in the white bags. Had to clear out our stove and re-check the auger to clear any left over pellets.
Did the formula change? Last two of the clear bags have clogged our auger and we had to return the bags and find older white bag inventory. So far the older white bag has not had the same issue as the clear bags.

Golden Fire Pellets 2023
I live above 4,000’ elevation in Nor Cal. I use a bag a day in the winter. 2022 pellets burned much cleaner. I’m now forced to clean my stove and glass every 3rd day. Last year it was once a week. With the drastic price increase this year, I’m considering other brands.

Packaging (new)
The new packaging is a thin clear plastic and doesn’t hold up. The new clear packaging is flimsy and doesn’t hold up. It tears too easily and it’s bad news.
We will consider buying a different brand if this doesn’t change.

Always burn cleanburn from manke . Could not get and had to buy these golden burn pellets for 100 bucks more a ton. I will not buy again. Burn pot has to be cleaned every 4-5 days lots of ash also. I don’t feel they put out the heat of cleanburn. I can go 2 weeks before I have to clean the burn pot normally. I have been using pellets for over 20 years and tried lots of brands and these are at the very bottom of my list

Pellet length
Golden Fire pellets have always been the best except for lately. The size (length) of the last couple pallets I’ve purchased are way longer than normal & plug up my feed auger! What happened to your quality control?
