Inferno Wood Pellets
Hardwood / Hardwood-Dominant Blend – High-Heat Fuel (Legacy Brand)
Inferno Wood Pellets were produced at a plant in Rumford, Rhode Island, using hardwood sawdust and residuals in large-volume production runs. They were marketed as a premium grade pellet fuel meant to deliver strong heat and consistent burns.
Typical performance (based on older user data): the pellets offered decent flame height but several users reported higher ash and more frequent cleanup compared to top-tier brands. Availability was strong in New England and some Mid-Atlantic markets for a time.
Status note: This brand shows limited current activity, and recent user forums suggest batch quality and manufacturer consistency declined. If you come across Inferno bags, treat them as legacy stock — check bag date, inspect for fines/ash issues and plan a test-burn before committing to multiple tons.
Bottom line: Inferno Wood Pellets may still function as heating fuel, but given their uncertain current status and past reports of variable performance, they are best approached with caution. Testing a few bags first is wise before purchasing large quantities.

Worst Pellet I have used so far.
I ordered pellets last year at Home Depot, as I do every year. Typically they provide Fireside Ultra which have worked well for me, last year they sent a couple of pallets of Fireside and a couple of Inferno Gold. The Inferno were terrible, I had to clean my burn pot out every day, there was a bunch ash, a dirty lazy flame. I got through them, but had to turn the stove off every day and clean it out. If HD are selling the same this year, I will be looking elsewhere.
