Energex manufactures premium grade wood pellet fuel for use in residential pellet stoves and residential furnaces and boilers. These pellets are designed also to work well in woodstoves and fireplaces fitted with the Prometheus Pellet Fuel Basket.
Energex manufactures hardwood and softwood varieties of pellets. Both types of pellets are made from clean sawdust that is free of additives and bark.
Summary
Fantastic pellets! 2019 I burned 2 bags of super dense wood pellets. I actually had to turn down my feed rate which I love because I know I’m getting a longer burn form each bag.

Cheap bags
I burn the energex golden pellets, they burn nice in my harman p61a the only problem I have is that the bags are made very thin and cheap, they need too make a thicker bag so you dont have alot of torn bags.

Great pellets
I got some of these free with my new Harman P68 stove. So far I have been impressed. They burn hot with little ash. Only negative is the plastic for the bags is too thin.

Mildew Odor
I have burned Energex pellets in my home for 5 years now. Last year I had a few bags that had a strange odor (like mildew). This year my entire lot, 5 tons worth, all smell like mildew or dirty feet when they are dumped in the stove. Poor customer service due to the fact everything has to filter to the Sales manager who refuses to call you back. After 6 voicemails and several emails to him I have to say my local shop saved the day. They took back the pellets and let me replace them with a product from another manufacturer. They even burned the pellets in their show room and one employee described her reaction as “dry heaving” due to the odor.

An excellent pellet. I have not tried the hardwood pellet but have found the softwood pellet to be “what the doctor ordered.” The pellet burned hot with minimal ash and very few”” clinkers in the burn pot.
I have been burning Energex now for two years. I recently learned that I can get the exact same wood pellets at Lowe’s or Home Depot for much cheaper ($30-$40/ton) than the stove shop that carries them.
Look for Fireside Ultra in a black bag at Home Depots around New England – or Nature’s Own at Lowe’s.
Harman P-43: Using Energex pellets almost exclusively from day 1. (5 years).
If only because I have only ONE supplier who will not only deliver, but stack also for 50 bucks. (Got a bad back…so this delivery AND stack is great). I order 3 tons. Usually takes me from early October to late March.. Then….if I need more, it is a scramble to find any pellets at all in my area. Loews, Tractor Supply usually have some….and it seems no matter what brand,( and ALL the brands say
“premium” ) the P-43 burns them with good heat…and no problems. I vacuum and clean things around every 1/2 ton. Then have my dealer come every spring to give it a “professional” cleaning.
got 2 tons of these last year from a local pellet stove retailer and they burn hotter and cleaner than anything I have bought before, anything I have used before I actually used less than the other brands so the overall cost was less and I had 3/4 ton left over
makes the glass on my Harman invincible insert dirty faster than most other pellets. Seems to put off a darker smoke.
Low ash, best heat, nice hard pellet. By far my favorite. I rate 10/10.
Lots of ash hard clinkers daily will not buy again.
