  1. Worst Pellets Ever!

    (1)

These are the worst pellets I’ve ever used. I bought some at my local feed store because they were out of Golden Fire. They opened up a brand new shrink wrapped pallet, put the bags in my car which I took directly in the house and they are so full of sawdust, it’s horrible. I was desperate and tried to burn them. My glass turned black and I had to keep getting up and using a long wooden spoon to clean them out of the pellet exit area because it keep getting clogged up. This morning I had to scoop them all out and throw them away and take my wet/dry vac and vacuum my pellet stove and scrub the blackened glass. I will never buy these again. I’ll freeze first.

  2. Poor

These are the worse pellets out there. The impurities which cause clinkers are well above any other pellet that I have burned. My pot overflows after 8 hours of burning, because the impurities plug the pot up. I’ve been burning pellets for over 30 years and have a good idea what a quality pellet does…these are not it.

  3. Auger stall

I’m always looking for another source for wood stove pellets. Found a brand I’ve not seen before, Mallard Creek. The pellets burn well and have a strong aromatic scent, which is enjoyable. The ash consistancy is course which my imply the wood does not burn as completely as other brands. Many of the pellets are well over 3″ long. My stove, an older Whitfield, struggles to allow even flow which starves the fire causing it to die. This is a major deterrent for me. Therefore I would not consider this brand as a reliable source for fuel. It is important to note, not all stove perform the same. Which I find interesting. It a combustion enclosure. Are they not all the same? Unfortunately not. As an example my stove seems to run best with Golden Fire and a few others from a short list. Long story short, find a brand that your stove likes and feed it them. Mallard Creek is on that list but second to the secondary.

  4. I have burned Mallard Creek pellets for years in my Quadra-Fire pellet insert. They have minimal dust when pouring them. They consistently start with a nice even burn. I can run them 3 days before having to clean the pot. I have compared them to Golden Fire which burns a tad bit hotter but also burns faster and with more dust on pouring them thus Mallard Creek last longer.

  5. Thease pellets are the worst I have ever purchased. Within 3 hours burn time I have to clean the burn pot liner. The air can not get through the heavy clinker then the pot piles over. Just as a test I tried another brand of pellets and no problems.
