I put $2000 down on a Maximum wood pellet outdoor stove found out that I could not obtain insurance and the seller is refusing to give me my $2000 back be careful
I have Maxim M250 that I have been using for 8 winter’s now…It heats my 1400 sq foot home with a full basement plus my domestic hot water…I have been burning on the average 3 to 4 bags of hardwood pellets a day.
If You Plan on Purchasing One be Prepared to have Emergency Standby Electrical Power that switches on automatically in case of a power outage!!!… Otherwise the Pellet Stove will start to overheat and release antifreeze into the augers to safely prevent a back fire..
If this safety feature is activated your augers will be all gummed up with wet wood pellets and You will have One Big Headache Cleaning them!!!…
If You plan on using a automatic battery operated power converted purchase a pure sign wave one ..I use a Propane autostsrt Power Generator for mine….
I am considering the pellet boiler. Would like to know if anyone has hooked up a silo to theirs. If so where would I buy it. Thanks
We have been enjoying the warmth that the pellet furnace puts out when the weather is cold outside. HOwever, a mild winter is causing the fire to go out when the outdoor temp gets up over 40-45 degrees. We’ve been experimenting with increasing the auger setting but don’t want to waste more fuel than we have to. Also, we tend to keep the heat down to about 64 inside and the low draw from the furnace may contribute to the “fo” recurrence. We’ve gone through A BUNCH of propane in the first few months of running the furnace and would really like to find a solution soon. Lastly, we are averaging 2- 40 lb. bags/day with low setting on one red light. does that sound like an average?
thanks,
Burning really well here. Heating my home , hot water & 44×34 shop. With 6 zones 300 ft per zone. In the floor. Using a 75 % corn & 25% pellets mix. Oooh yes i have had my troubles too. But i clean it faithfully. I have maxim 250 & burning 1.5 bushels a day. Unless i crank up floor over 63 degrees, but that’s to hot for me. Still have to hook up my 2.5 poly silo. Need to sell 43 bushel Hopper ( from central boiler) good shape have stepped up.
