Review of Northern Warmth Supreme Douglas Fir
2018 – Here we are again and these pellets are the real deal west coast douglas fir pellet. Super high heat and low ash.
Aug 2017 – I have high hopes for these pellets and will update as soon as I burn them. I think they are going to be one of the top pellets on the market this year.
Sept 2017 – These pellets look great and feel great. Super dense hard douglas fir pellets. I am going to be putting them in the freshly cleaned stove and hopper and open all the windows to see how they burn. I think they are like Bear Mt. or Golden fire pellets which are fantastic doug fir pellets from the west coast. I was thinking there were going to be alot of fines from the long haul over but I was wrong. The bag had fines but not worrisome at all.
Sept 2017 – I must say that these pellets are awesome! First bag of the year to get tested and what was super impressive was the fact that I had to turn my regular feed rate of 4 down to 2.5. So what this means is that due to the super dense pellets which burn really hot, they burn long. In essence I almost doubled the life of a bag. So long story short is that even though these cost more, you will use much less. Win / Win.

2 years ago the things were amazing. Last year I was less than pleased. They didn’t burn nearly as hot. 2 years ago, it was HOT, and the HOTTER the better, as less pellets were needed to heat house. Last year, they were only warm, ash was considerably higher, dust was a MESS, jamming my auger for the first time in 10 years. For $400/ton, just not worth the money in 2019-2020. I skipped on them this year.

Hands Down Best Burning Pellet
Best pellet I have used so far. The small amount of ash produced is amazing. The only downside is the dust. If you are transferring pellets to a carry container best to do so outside or in a garage.

Excellent pellet for the xtra money worth it
I bought 2 bags of these pellets for the first time yesterday, I have to be honest they are extremely excellent my glass does not turn black like other brands right now they are burning for 11 hours on a low setting and my hopper still looks like only between 4-5 lbs of pellets were only used and my house is nice and warm , these pellets are $8.80 a bag where I live definitely worth spending the extra money, I am going today to pick up 4 tons today. Also I was able to take a peek in my ash pan and barely anything in it. Which is a big plus .

Great heat, high price.
Great heat with almost no ash. Bought them
At our local hearth dealer to try. At 10.00 per bag they were pricey, but they are really nice. Put these in my neglected (previous owner) Harman P43 stove and they burned beautifully. It was chilly in the house and we wanted to take the chill off of the house, we lit the stove and 1 hr later the downstairs went from 62 to 75 degrees. We had to wear t-shirts it got so warm. I was a little disappointed with the fines in the bag. Great product.

Bear Mountain Forest Products (America's Best, Golden Fire)
Just read your review of Northern Warmth Supreme Douglas Fir pellets. If they are Bear Mountain/Golden fire/America’s Best they are made using 100% Douglas Fir from the Willamette Valley region in Oregon. There’s no additives in them, except a little water to get the moisture back to the 2 or 3% it takes to release the binder in the wood to make them “stick” together. Also, the only difference between any of them is just the packaging, they all come from the same location and packagers just swap out different rolls of plastic bag material to make the “new” brand. (I should know, I was a packager at Bear Mountain Forest Products mill in Brownsville Oregon) Of course I also used the pellets, and having used a few other brands besides those, I found that the “other” brands aren’t anywhere near as good. (Lignetics bought Bear Mountain a few years back, so they are the same basic product)
