Okanagan Douglas Fir Wood Pellets
100% Softwood – Super Premium Douglas Fir Fuel
Okanagan Douglas Fir Wood Pellets are made exclusively from Douglas Fir softwood sawdust, with no recycled materials, bark or additives. They’re engineered for high-performance pellet stoves that demand strong heat output, clean burn and minimal ash.
Typical specs: Recent data lists heat values around 8,800 BTUs per pound, ash content under 0.6% and very low moisture levels. These attributes translate into longer burn times, less stove maintenance and more consistent performance during the heating season.
Availability: These pellets are produced in Canada and distributed into the U.S. Northeast among other regions. Because of their premium grade and softwood feedstock, availability may be more limited than standard blends—so check bag date, batch origin and storage condition before ordering by the ton.
Status note: Okanagan continues to be referenced by users and dealers as a top-tier softwood pellet option. That said, premium softwood supplies can fluctuate, and some recent user reports mention batch variability—so testing a few bags early in the season is a wise move.
Bottom line: If your pellet stove is tuned for softwood fuel and you’re after one of the cleaner, hotter options available, Okanagan Douglas Fir Wood Pellets are a standout choice—just ensure you’re sourcing fresh stock and verifying local supply before purchasing in bulk.

Live in Castleton Vermont is there anyone close to my area that have these pellets for sale.
We’ve run quite a few brands through our stove over the years. These are by far the hottest and cleanest we’ve ever burned. We burned some of the easyblaze mentioned below. They’re a decent pellet, but are not even in the same conversation as the Okanagan Douglas Fir. Not many brands are. The ash is nearly non existent with the Doug Firs and the heat noticeably hotter than anything we’ve run through our stove. Just bought 3 tons of them for the upcoming season. They’re well worth the extra $100 a year.
In central mass you can find these at Hubbard Farm in Princeton Ma!!
Tried a new brand called EasyBlaze out of Virginia. Similar results and as great as the Okanagan but cost less money. Very satisfied, I have to admit!
I have a Harman Accentra stove on its eighth season and this was the first season I used the Okanagan doug fir pellets. Hands down the best pellets i have used so far. Great heat output and VERY little ash. Only had to empty the ash pan once per ton and clean the stove out after burning three tons. They are expensive but worth every penny IMO..
