Pro Pellet Wood Pellets

100% Hardwood – Premium Hardwood-Only Fuel

Pro Pellet Wood Pellets are made from kiln-dried hardwood sawdust, compressed into dense, uniform pellets designed for residential pellet stoves. Because they skip softwood species and use minimal bark, these pellets aim for lower ash and strong heat output.

Typical performance: Users report solid burn quality and moderate ash content for hardwood fuel. While exact specs vary by batch, the brand positions itself as a hardwood-only premium pellet designed for durability and clean operation.

Availability: Pro Pellet is produced in the U.S. (Michigan area) and is available via select feed and farm-supply dealers rather than large national chains. If you’re considering this brand, check that you’re getting a fresh-season bag and confirm local seller availability.

Status note: The brand remains in circulation, though reviews and forum feedback indicate batch variation in recent seasons—meaning your results may depend on luck of the bag date and storage conditions.

Bottom line: If your stove is tuned for hardwood fuel and you’re looking for a pellet that delivers dense burn, strong heat and cleaner ash than many blends, Pro Pellet Wood Pellets are a solid choice—just verify batch freshness and local supply before committing to large quantities.

      1. This years pro pellets.

        (4)

Have burned at least 4 tons of pro pellets each year since I bought my Harman stove at least 10 to 12 years ago. Have never had any problems with them except that am getting much more ash this year. Used to go around a month before I would have to clean my stove, but so far this year have had to clean about every 2 weeks. I wonder if they changed the wood they use to manufacture pro pellets in 2022. Get about 14 hours, give or take, out of 1 bag.

      2. Still the best

        (5)

Just a follow up to my 2019 review. I have still been burning Pro Pellets consistently since then, and have not had any of the issues that others have described. I haven’t noticed any difference in quality, heat output, or burn time. They still burn clean and hot, and I still go 2 weeks between firebox cleanings with no plugged burn pot holes, and can still see through the glass. I’m still running the same VG5770 stove, with no problems.

Compared to a couple other brands I burned which have a rough finish, these pellets are compressed to the point that they are smooth and shiny. They slide down the hopper more easily. Carrying the bags feels more “sloshy” compared to the others. I suspect they are compressed more tightly, to get more heat for the size.

When these pellets were getting harder to find, I contacted the company. They gave me a listing of local dealers. I also wrote them a positive review based on my experiences, and suggested they not change a thing. They asked me where I was buying them, and since then I have had no issues finding them at the local Family Farm and Home or Tractor Supply.

        Pros

        • Excellent heat output, very clean burning. Lower moisture and ash spec compared to other brand specs I have seen. Consistent pellet in my experience. Company is responsive and friendly when contacted.

        Cons

        • None.

      3. Pro Pellets are the BEST brand I have ever used.

        (5)

Have tried half dozen different brands over the past 8 years and Pro Pellets remain the best burning with lowest ash that I have ever used. However, one ton I purchased from local Ludington Michigan Tractor Supply had 14 of the total 50 bags had frozen pellets …. which means they got wet in the store’s parking lot and then froze. Fortunately, the store took them back and refunded my money per bag. I will continue to use Pro Pellet brand and buy from Ludington Tractor Supply.

        Pros

        • Hot, even burn. Minimal ash. Great BRAND.

        Cons

        • Dusty when pouring into hopper.

        (1)

I no longer can burn these pellets ! I would not recommend them . 20 plus years using pellets ! They completely clogged my chimney shut, do not burn clean . I am no longer able to control the heat because they burn excessively hot.
