Spruce Pointe Wood Pellets

Spruce Pointe Wood Pellets

100% Softwood – Super Premium Canadian Fuel

Spruce Pointe Wood Pellets are produced in Alberta, Canada using only softwood sawdust, with no bark or additives, engineered for high heat output and ultra-clean burning. These pellets are designed for pellet stoves that perform best on softwood fuel.

Typical performance: Heat values near 8,700 BTUs per pound and ash content at about 0.39 % in recent runs. The low moisture content (around 4.9 %) and uniform pellet size help deliver strong burn performance and minimal residue.

Availability: These pellets are available in select U.S. and Canadian markets via specialty dealers and pellet-fuel distributors. Because of their premium grade and geographic production, local availability may vary—always check bag date, storage condition and current-season run before purchasing by the ton.

Status note: The Spruce Pointe line remains recognized in the pellet-fuel community for clean softwood performance. That said, as with all niche premium products, batch variation and regional supply can be issues—test a few bags first and verify storage plus freshness.

Bottom line: If your pellet stove is tuned for softwood fuel and you’re seeking one of the cleaner, hotter options available, Spruce Pointe Wood Pellets are a standout choice—just make sure you’re sourcing fresh stock from a proven supplier.

I have been purchasing this brand of pellets for years, this is the first year that the bags seals have been breaking. It is very frustration to have to clean up the pellets after the seam breaks. Could you please look into why this is happening. I have to carry the bags upstairs and when they break its a huge mess and waste of pellets.Donn

Worst wood pellets I’ve ever used. Burn box overflows Unburnt pellets because of all the ash in the box, and that’s just from one bag. And I use a slow feed

      4. Best wood pellets we've tried

        (5)

We are quite happy with these pellets compared to others we have tried. I have purchased others where the pellets had a greenish tinge, which could only have come from green poplar bark. I don’t much care whether it’s softwood or hardwood pellets, so long as they burn hot and don’t leave a lot of ash to clean up. These pellets seem to do that just fine.

        Pros

        • Clean-burning with less ash residue compared to others we have tried.

        Cons

        • I have no way of measuring heat output, but it seems just fine.
        • I just wish it was a little more affordable in these times.

      5. Very pleased with these pellets

This is the first year that I have used these pellets and they seem to burn quite efficiently, I’m not seeing that much sawdust and they don’t leave a whole lot of fly ash. I also noticed that they gave off more heat than other brands I have used. Not only that, they come from Slave Lake, Alberta and that province could use our support. I’m in Ontario and I intend to tell the retailer that I got them from that I would buy them again next year if they can supply them. The bags could be a little stronger but no big deal.
