Tractor Supply Wood Pellets

Wood Pellets at Tractor Supply Co.

Tractor Supply stocks several bagged pellet fuels for stoves, typically in 40-lb units. Below are some specific brands or labeled products you’ll find online and in-store—check your local store for availability, bag date, and batch quality.

Notable Listings

  • Green Supreme Wood Pellets – “Hardwood Wood Fuel Pellets, 40 lb” label often seen in the Northeast.
  • Soft Wood Fuel Pellets, 40 lb – Generic softwood label widely stocked.
  • US Stove Hardwood Heating Pellets – “Hardwood Heating Pellets, 40 lb” listing.

Buying Tips

  • Check bag date and condition: Because many bags are standard-stock across stores, freshness can vary. Moisture, sagging bags or faded labels may signal older stock.
  • Know your fuel type: Many bags are blend or softwood dominated—if your stove prefers hardwood pellets, be sure to inspect species info or ask staff.
  • Inspect for fines/dust: Some users report higher ash or dust in large discount bags from general-stock lines at Tractor Supply.
  • Ask about availability of “ton” or pallet buys: Some stores allow pre-buys or pallet ordering which can improve freshness and savings.

Status & Performance Summary

Tractor Supply remains an accessible retail source for pellet fuel across many regions, especially for homeowners seeking convenience or shorter supply chains. While the basic in-house bags offer value, performance may vary batch-to-batch. For top performance (very low ash, ultra-consistent burn), many pellet users still recommend testing a small quantity first before buying bulk.

Bottom line

If you’re shopping pellets at Tractor Supply, you’ll find good availability and competitive pricing. For best results though, treat it like value fuel—check bag date, inspect the condition, and if your stove is tuned for premium pellets, be prepared to test or compare a few bags from different batches.

  1. Quality decline,

Used to love these pellets, must have switched suppliers because this year they’re garbage. Usually a pallet lasts the year with a few extra, we almost out (and it hasn’t been a cold year). They clog the feeder every other day and it has to be emptied and vacuumed (so much dust in the bags…., at least a cup of dust (probably what causes the clogs). Ash is way higher than ever before, the pots fills in less than a day (never had this happen in 6 years). Won’t be buying from tractor supply anymore… frustrating season to say the least.

  5. Bought a pallet of tractor supply pellets. The brand was “Power Pellets”. Omg these are the worst pellets in the world. Does not heat the house and causes my stove to fill up overnight with unburied pellets. And the hard cluster they leave behind is awlful. Stay away from the POWER PELLETS!!
